Decide if anything needs updating or changing. I've always been a big fan of "run what you brung." There will be plenty of time to spend a couple grand on an AR and a Shotgun, learn the game first. I can't imagine the 92 Target Counterweight being attached to a full-time duty rig. As far as I know, the M9A1 railed frame was never offered with a 92 Target Counterweight system either. That guy needs to grab a welder and make some 170mm mags and enjoy his Open adventures. Mac

We lose California, New Jersey, New York, Hawaii, and upper Illinois Production shooters by moving to 15. We lose anyone using 14 and lower capacity magazines to L-10 or altogether. We appease some people who would like to reload less and have an easier time planning stages. I don't see an endgame benefit for the sport in making the rule change. As an occasional, at best, C-D Production shooter, I reload slowly, plan stages poorly, and generally make a mess of my matches. However, I realize that all these things are part of the Production division, and gaining proficiency at these skills is what it's all about. I have rigs for SS, Limited/L10, and Open, but I choose Production specifically because of the way it's currently setup. Mac

Summer before 7th grade my buddy and I decide that we're tired of jumping our go-carts, and it was time to play go-cart soccer. Yes, we built a ramp and were jumping go-carts. Anyway, after a few minutes of go-cart soccer, it was time to hit the ramp again. I had no idea the soccer ball was trapped under my go-cart in the hollow space between the seat and the rear axle. When you hit a ramp at a pretty good speed with a soccer ball under your go-cart, it will compress and rebound quite efficiently. I only remember watching the horizon changing very quickly. Then I landed on my face, shattered my humorus, fractured my neck, and fractured my back. It was a learning experience to say the least. Mac

A friend of mine has a 550 mounted on one of those music equipment shipping boxes, you know like they use at concerts, black with metal corners. That thing is STUPID solid. The casters are huge and lock about as solid as the parking brake in my truck. Plus, he was able to mount shelves and drawers inside. Not everyone has access to these, so it's not an ideal situation, but since he does sound work at concerts, he had everything he needed. Oh, and he can put his 550 in the cart, and take it with him when he's on the road. Mac

Vihta says w/ 147g JHP, you're in for 3.1-3.9gn. At 3.9 you're at 984, so drop down to about 3.3, and you can step up to your 884fps. Personally, I load my XD9 Tac with Zero 125JHP, VV N320 4.2gn, CCI SPP, OAL 1.145. Shoots well in all my 9MMs. Mac

5.0 N320 @ 1.20 under a Zero 180gn JHP. This is the load my Brazo Pro SC was built for, so I'm not changing it. And it's goofy soft. Mac

DOH with Stingray belt loop is what I use on 3 of my rigs, so I'll always recommend it. I have no experience with the Black Ice and don't know what approvals it carries. Looking at the pictures, it looks cut VERY low along the front site channel. Mac

I think you're right on track with the Blade-tech DOH. It's real easy to go back and forth, just don't locktite the screws. Mac

G19 is a great platform, and as everyone has said, run whatcha brung. However, watch the meat of your strong hand palm when it's reload time. WHEN you pinch it... not IF, but WHEN, don't let your hand cringe up and drop the gun. Otherwise, have a GREAT time. Mac

After having purchased nearly every model of the black-plastic thumb actuated magazine loaders, they go and invent this Lula thing that works on everything. Sheesh. Although, it sure cleaned out the middle pocket of my range bag. Anyway, as everyone above has said, the Lula's are the only way to go. However, if you find yourself on a stage or at a range with no table, shelf, or something to push down on, you'll have to use your knee, and that can get uncomfortable for a super packed hi-cap mag, like a 20-21rd STI. I setup my wife's M&P rig with CR Speeds and had to put a washer behind the STI spacer. Works pretty well, and the tension adjustment is still completely usable. Mac

Thats what im gonna start trying to practice Being fairly new to the sport myself (5 matches in the books) I know the jittery, cant-sleep feeling you have. what you need to look back on (video of your matches is pricesless here) are your draws, reloads, etc. things you can re-create in dryfire and things you need to do everytime. As someone else said. you can run over a stage in your head a 1,000 times but it wont help much when you show up to your next match and its not there, haha. Of course the excecption would be classifier stages. Sooner or later, you'll see them again. Good advice here. Do you think it would be out of line to ask someone to video my stage while I shoot it? I just dont want to give the impression that I'm 'that guy' who comes off as needy and was wondering if this would be a socially acceptable thing to do. As long as a person didn't step on someone who is going over their pre-run routine, I personally would have no problem with someone asking me to video them. If you're friends with someone on the squad, you might want to work out a tit-for-tat scenario, or even plan ahead to record each other at the next match. Mac

Got my targets setup on our private range, and started working some beginning drills with my wife. After a few stages, took a break and switched over to her open gun to test some reloads. Then it happened. I broke my personal safety rule "4" Eyes and Ears. Forgot to drop my blastshields and took some powder and shrapnel in the eye. Sitting here watching half a movie with an eyepatch. GREAT LOOK! (for a pirate, but I'm a ninja, so it doesn't really work.) I found out tomorrow how serious it is, and what it's gonna take to get back up and running. Mac

I saw you said you changed the primer tube to the small size, but you didn't mention if you changed the primer slide/cup assembly as well? I believe the small cup is silver and the large cup is gold-ish. You shouldn't need anything other than the plastic follower in the primer tube. Take the tube back out, and check to make sure that there's nothing inside it (look through it at a light) Also take a look at the blue plastic oriface to make sure there isn't a ding or something on the lip. That little thing was the bane of my existence when I first setup my SDB. If it's got a ding, or the lip is damaged in any way, there should be an extra in your parts pack that came with the machine. I'm concerned about your plastic follower. There is no reason for it to be hanging up in the primer tube. Is it straight? There's only three things that could cause it to hang up 1)it's bent 2)the primer tube is bent 3)there's something in the tube. I hope some of this is helpful to you. Mac
