  1. I've detail stripped my slide dozens of times. I thought I knew my gun inside and out so I was pretty surprised to learn about a part that I was completely unaware of. The weird thing is that the gun has functioned FLAWLESSLY for a few dozen matches and lots of practice sessions without the bearing, I've had one stovepipe in maybe 10,000 rounds. Is the purpose of the bearing just to act as a spacer and put a little more tension on the extractor spring? That, and I think "Tom in Ohio" is right on his explanation. Re-installing that unit without the bearing would be a PITA and could damage the spring eventually. I think it is pretty cool your Glock functioned so well for so long without a part
  2. Updated steel blaster with Duracoat Stealth Gray. It is now undetectable on radar.
  3. Sounds like even without the Spring loaded bearing, you still had enough tension on the extractor for it to do its job. Your stovepipe could very well be the result of this missing part. Perhaps the spring tension is finally getting weaker and has no juice left on the extractor. It is a very small little plastic part. Have you ever detailed stripped your slide? They just snap onto the spring and can easily snap off if not careful. I imagine once you get the new slb, you will be functioning 100% again. I don;t see how firing rounds without one can really damage your gun internally.
  4. Here is my racer for the local pumpkin race. We had a whole spider theme going, the men where exterminators and the women were spiders. Turned out pretty cool and we won a few races.
  5. That's true. The spacers work great for everything except Single Stack. Prod and Lim will work just fine. I have also seen the Double Alpha pouches around and they look pretty nifty. You can change he spacing by simply adjusting the knobs. DA - http://www.doublealpha.biz/combo-deals/com...ition-mag-pouch Cr Speed - http://www.cpwsa.com/cr_speed.htm (halfway down page)

    Glock 22 or 35

I have shot with both and prefer the G35. Without getting technical, it just feels better to me. My trigger from the factory felt great. Just added a magwell, some TruGrip and good sights and I was off. Oh yeah, and I took off the extended slide stop lever, that thing just gets in the way.
  7. It seems the majority of Glock shooters love the Vanek triggers. There are many to choose from. I'm sure someone will chime in with a recommendation for the best, and whats legal for IPDA divisions. Check them out here: http://www.vanekcustom.com/
  8. Me too. If that's the case, I am switching to a G27 for Limited, my transitions will be sick
  9. I have grown to like my G34 trigger a lot. It is stock except for a light polish job on the appropriate parts. That said, if I ever had money to burn up, I would try out a Vanek Trigger as I hear they are superb.
  10. I shoot 124 CMJ MG's out of my G34 in Production Class. Makes 135 PF and recoil is light and quick. I can't imagine the recoil feeling any lighter, but may give the 147's a try when I run outta my case just to see for myself.
  11. What a awesome video! I give it 2 snaps and a twist.
  12. I have been running Missouri Bullet Co's 230gr "Softball" LRN with 3.8 grs of Clays. Makes major with room to spare. Extremely soft shooting and not too smokey. No matter which you go with, I would recommend sticking to round nose bullets. Some flat nose and semi-wadcutters have been known to cause FTF's in some 1911s. Your results may vary.
  13. Great videos Gary. I have seen you shoot at Norco a few times and was happy to see you do so well. You had an outstanding performance in a stacked field. Congrats on your 7th overall finish and 1st placed "A".
  14. I just started shooting Single Stack IPSC with my Custom II and it runs 100% as well. I use and recommend the Wilson 47D magazines. I also through a Heinie Slant Pron race cut rear and a Dawson Precision .100" front. Congrats on your new piece. Good luck and have fun.
  15. Chris, Just shot with you today in the squad!! Good to finally meet you. I re-started shooting there this past July 4th. See you next week Edrick Cool! I had no idea that was you. Great meeting you as well. I only get out every other match, so I will see you in 2.
  16. I have a pair of those and really like them. Very comfortable for all day wear. I wear them to and from the my matches as well cause the chicks dig em.
  17. The DP ICE is aluminum, but it utilizes the plastic inserts that snap into place at the well opening. These inserts take the beating of the mag reloads and can simply be changes out when they get too ugly. I have had my ICE SS magwell for about 2 months now and really love it.
  18. I can't give advice on Open, but I can invite you to come out and shoot at Norco if you are in the Socal/LA area. We shoot every Saturday morning at around 8:30 and have a blast. A lot of nice people and a lot of awesome shooters at Norco. You can find more info here: http://nrg.jvdynamics.com/nrg/ Hope to see you there! Chris R.
  19. 14 lb recoil spring w/ 170 PF load. Feels and handles very good.
  20. It is a super thin coating (2 microns of something), so I don't think it would make a barrel to tight. IIRC, there was talk about Ionbond doing interior of barrels for the military. Not sure if that ever transpired, and could have juts been internet chatter too. Give these guys a call and see what they say - http://www.springerprecision.com/
  21. Adjustable are certainly handy for dialing in various loads, but I wouldn't say thy are a necessity. May save you the trouble of changing front sight heights down the road if you significantly change your load. I personally like a plain rear/ fiber optic front combination. Makes the front sight really pop against a plain black rear. Just something to think about.
