  1. That was just cruel. When the jeopardy music started on the first shooter, I looked down and saw that the video was almost eight minutes long and though, "There's NO WAY that guy has that many mags."
  2. That is BY FAR the coolest looking Glock I've ever seen.
  3. Another driver wouldn't even have to be doing something stupid. Somebody making a quick lane change would have put this guy out of business for good. It's basically Russian Roulette with a motorcycle instead of a revolver.
  4. That makes sense. I forgot that Glock made other competition models. I guess when you add up the long slides and the C models, there are plenty. One more question: How many rounds would you recommend bringing per division?
  5. Looks like Team Rudy meant business today. Congrats to Chris and Micah for winning their divisions! I had a blast today. All 8 stages were very challenging and gave the shooter lots of options. Thanks to all the RO's and everybody who helped with the match. Without you guys, none of us would have had this much fun.

Thanks Patrick. I'm hoping to get there early enough to check out the stages on saturday, so I may see you around. If not, good luck

I can't wait to see what kind of trouble Phil gets into with these

I finished 3rd overall in production at the Illinois sectional and won a trophy for High B class. That's all well and good, but I'm ready to start competing for some A class trophies now. Unfortunately, I shot the exact same classifier at the club match this month that I shot last month. I shot it clean, but about a quarter second slower than last time. I think it will still be a 100% score. Michigan Sectional is this Sunday, then I'm shooting a GSSF match the sunday afterward. I have high hopes for both matches, and my accuracy is dialed in nice and tight. After looking over my game and watching videos of Max Michel and Dave Sevigny for hours last night, I've decided that thisis what I'm going to spend my winter months working on.
  9. I enjoyed it. I wasn't blown away or anything, but it was a decent heist flick.
  10. The point of dummy rounds is to make your gun and magazines weigh the same in practice as they do in competition when they're loaded up. You can make dummy rounds by reloading rounds with no primer or powder. I recommend de-priming them too, so you can see a nice big hole in the bottom to identify them. You can also buy commercially made versions. The one thing that's VERY IMPORTANT about dummy rounds is that you never get them mixed up with live ammo. Don't store them in the same place, and don't handle them around each other. Visually check each round to make sure it has no primer before you load it into your gun for practice. I even count out loud to myself as I load my mags, "one dummy round - two dummy rounds." You want to make absolutely sure that live ammo gets nowhere near your gun or mags while dry-firing.
  11. Just sent in my registration. I guess G34 and G35 are off limites for stock division. I don't have any idea why since you can use the extended mag release, extended slide release, and 4# connector in a G17 that is stock legal. They must get complaints about that extra 3/8" of barrel giving an unfair advantage to us gamers.
  12. +1 for cutting it out with a dremel. I completely destroyed the punch that Dawson sent with the new sight trying to get the old one out.
  13. The results are up. Looks like you won singlestack. Congratulations!
  14. Hey Micah. I just joined your squad for the Michigan Sectional and I'm looking forward to shooting with you. I was kind of bummed that there weren't any squads open that had anybody above B class in them so I was psyched to see you in squad 6 by yourself. I always like to shoot with someone above my skill level when I can. Plan on having some of your stage breakdowns copied
  15. A $4 pack of wristbands from the sporting goods department at walmart will help quite a bit with sweaty hands. They don't eliminate the sweat, but they keep the sweat forming all over your arms from dripping down onto your hands. ETA: Have you seen the scores for this match anywhere?
  16. Sounds awesome. If the match got popular enough, I think it would be even better to have two Team classes. Instead of only letting a team be composed of shooters totaling up to 14, maybe have a lower division with a cap of 10 and an upper division with a cap of 18 or something. This way the new guy teams shoot against the new guy teams and there is a more competitive level for the teams made up of masters and GM's.
  17. I stay in decent shape and spend a lot of time trying to strengthen my legs, but the main thing that has really helped my stage movement is actually setting up practice stages and running them over and over. A lot of people practice shooting all the time, but their practice involves mostly standing and shooting. Since movement is just as crucial to our sport as actually shooting the gun, you should practice it just as much.
  18. I'd say that's your problem. Integrate leaning around things into your normal practice sessions and you'll get much better at it. In terms of exactly how to lean more effectively, my only advice would to stay low. It seems like I can lean further more comfortably when my whole body is lower to the ground.
  19. I generally experience the same thing as Jim. I get maybe 3-4 hours of sleep before a match away from home. I tried sleeping pills before the 09 double tap and felt groggy until our lunch break. I didn't get a single wink of sleep before the pro-am this year and I still shot a decent match, so I think the negative effects from lack of sleep are somewhat lessened by the insane amount of excitement keeping me from sleeping. I did pass out in the car before we got out of the USSA parking lot, but I felt awake and aware on every stage.
  20. One more quick question. If I take the top end from my G34 with factor parts, can I put it on the frame of my stock G17 to make it a stock division legal G34? It would be A g34, just with different serial numbers on the slide and frame. I'm asking because it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to afford new sights for the G17 before the match.
  21. Awesome! This seems like it would make it very easy to increase your movement speed while shooting since you can crank most treadmills up in .1 mph incriments. I bet I can shoot pretty accurately moving 2-3 miles per hours but it would get hard from 3-4mph.
  22. I'm proud of all my shooting callouses. I also have a big one on the bottom left section of my right palm from the backstrap of my glock rubbing during recoil.
  23. Thanks Chuck, that sounds like a plan. Will anyone have problems with me shooting hard cast reloads? I've put thousands of them through my stock barrel so I'm not worried about safety, I just don't want to piss anyone off.
  24. Thanks Chuck. Which would you recommend for the G17?
