  1. Its a .40 and of course its a Para
  2. Took me 3 months to get all of my gear for limited together thanks to everything I ordered either showing up wrong or being backordered . Its just nice to know I don't have to borrow gear from anyone anymore
  3. My Money is on Maggie and I sat there dumbstruck as they picked all the guys first and then 2 of the top female shooters in the world last . Hopefully their ignorance leads to their demise . I am glad to see them giving the winner of the shoot off a gift card . That kid last year got put into every challenge because people perceived him as weak and easy to take out . It would have been nice to see him go home with an extra 8-10K in gift cards for his troubles .
  4. Part into my both my daughters college fun , new linoleum in the kitchen and the rest into savings to help augment my unemployment
  5. You owe me nothing . I marked my powder measures so I wouldn't forget ....... which I do often
  6. It is ~3/8" thick, so that should be the small pistol bar. You turn it counter clock wise to reduce capacity and clock wise to increase it . Not insulting your intelligence , just throwing out ideas
  7. How thick is the powder bar ? Could be that you have a rifle powder bar in it . My pistol powder bar is roughly 3/8 of an inch and my rifle is nearly 3/4 of an inch .
  8. After a LOOOOONG hiatus from shooting any handgun I am slowly getting everything rolling . Today was spent getting my 550 into production ready shape and then getting everything adjusted . Took me a while to get everything figured out as it has spent the last 5 years or more parked at my Dads place and I couldn't even find all the pieces needed to load .40 . I can now load .40 or .223 and have dedicated tool heads set up for both calibers Now I can go out and get all these reloading components I have been sitting on turned into AMMO !!!
  9. Travis Gibson gave someone this advise a while back and I think its pretty sound . "Here's how you pick a shotgun. Find a make and model you like...buy three of them....keep the one that shoots and send the other two back." I have shot 1100's for a long time but I don't put near as many rounds through them as some folks do . I like the way mine have shot and with the addition of a speed feed gate thinger wicker they are easy to reload . I have a couple friends with the FN's and they are very nice but the opening for feeding shells in seems really tiny width wise and I have noted most of the top guys have taken a dremel to the opening to make it easier to reload . I haven't got to try out a Benelli yet but know a few folks that have them and Love them , Travis being one of them .
  10. I have been trying to get everything together but it seems like whenever I order something it either shows up wrong or gets back-ordered . I just can't seem to catch a break on the simple stuff

    Stickers

Just so happens a clothing company has the same last name as me I received a hand full of vinyl stickers yesterday and have been busily sticking them to everything like a 6 yr. old jacked up on Ritalin ... LOL
  12. Thanks . I was gonna try and make the New Years day 3-gun but late night revelry precluded me from dragging my sorry butt out of bed before 10 You shooting any of the fun matches in Nampa or Emmett ? My gear for the Para is slowly showing up and I got the 550 setup and rolling at my place .
  13. Is the reticle on the Tac30 larger than the one in the XTR ? It looks more like a nice large donut reticle but like most of the reticles I have used they look great on paper but have been a bit small in reality .
  14. My brother is almost finished with Law school and this is his description of it . First year, they scare you to death. Second year, they work you to death. Third year, they bore you to death. He is well versed in the drinking aspect and sounds like he already hates Law .
  15. 1X fired brass is fine in an M1A . We load 1X fired Federal brass 3 more times for the M1A National Match we have before we scoop it up and put it in the scrap brass pile and its about the softest brass out there . I am sure you will get at least that many out of LC Brass .
  16. Whilst waiting for my holster and some other stuff to show up for the Para I shot another steel challenge match yesterday . I used a MkII Ruger and finished second in the .22 class and 4th overall :)Excellent practice for making smooth target to target transitions as well as watching the sights . I am thinking I may buy a GSG 1911-22 just to shoot the steel challenges with and use the Para for when steel targets have to fall and paper has to be scored . I will just tell my wife "Its so the kids will have something they can shoot."
  17. Was at my dads yesterday and noticed he had an 8 lb. jug of Titegroup in the reloading area . I asked him what he was using it for and he said he thought I had left it there a few years ago and that if I needed it to get it out of his way . I don't know if it was his , mine or jointly owned but 8 pound jugs of Titegroup that have never been opened and cost nothing , today anyway , are absolutely my favorite kind
  18. Shot a Steel challenge match on Monday night with a borrowed gun , holster and some ammo I had never shot before . I finished middle of the pack which wasn't too bad considering the pistol started to fail to eject towards the end . Have been reading Brians book and collecting gear . I traded my box stock G17 for something a little more suitable for limited class in the form of a Para P-16 limited that has been fairly well worked over and 4 mags with Dawson Basepads . Got to go shoot it and adjust the sights but cannot really do much dry fire practice as I don't have a holster for it just yet .
  19. So its a Hot weapon correct ?
  20. So after a 6 year hiatus from handgun comp's my skills have degenerated to point that I think I can honestly start over . It will be a perfect opportunity to start fresh and re-learn the sport while leaving behind my bad habits that kept me in a C-class rut for nearly 4 years . I started back a week ago shooting my G17 in limited class where I finished dead last with a whopping 3.85% of the points the match winner had . That being considered I believe I have no where to go but up from here I already have a proper limited gun on its way and an idea as to what equipment I would like to be running on the belt . That coupled with BE and Saul Kirsch's books in my hand and Matt Burkett's videos sitting in the DVD player I will attempt to build a solid platform to compete from rather than the haphazard , fast-shooting and fast running lunatic platform I was shooting off of before . We shall see how it all goes for me and I will try and post regularly as to my progress in this endeavor .
  21. CA does NOT require a firearm to be shipped FFL to FFL . Here is a FAQ ...... CA DOJ
  22. Hello all , I am trying to put together a list of wants needs and desires for gear related to para-ordnance and was wondering if the Blade-Tech pro-series competition magazine pouches for an STI will work with Para magazines ? I use to use the 771's in the old days but the Tek-Lok feature on the blade-techs is really nice as it makes it easy to change my gear configuration depending on what I am shooting . Any help here would be greatly appreciated .
  23. Shot a match today and one of the stage descriptions went something like this .... Engage targets T1-T3 with 2 rounds each , perform a mandatory reload and engage targets T4-T6 with 2 rounds each then perform reload and engage targets T7-T9 with 2 rounds each . My question is this , if a competitor shot targets T1-T3 first , performed the reload , engaged targets T7-T9 and then performed their final reload and engaged T4-T6 is this not a procedural for engaging targets out of order ?
  24. And Together These are all originals that they wrote either together or separately .
