Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have loaded 220gr SMK bullets with 9.9gr of Win 296. This load worked great with my Advance Armament 12" SBR with Gemtech HVT suppressor. My problem is that the Sierra Match King 220gr bullet is next to impossible to find. So I purchased some Lapua 220gr Scenar-L bullets. Once I received the Lapua bullets, I noticed that they were much longer than the SMK bullets. My question is since the amount of space in the case will be less with the Lapua bullet do I need to change my powder charge amount to keep the bullet speed subsonic? I have searched for a subsonic load for the Lapua bullet but have not found any load data for the 220gr Scenar-L bullet for the 300 Blackout.
  2. Thanks everybody for the information, I will send them to the recycle bucket, I do not need any problems.
  3. I picked up several rounds of 9mm brass with a "RWS" head stamp. It looks like it was all once fired. Is this good brass to reload? Or should I throw in recycle bucket?
  4. Is there a difference between Remington small pistol primers marked No. 1 1/2 and Remington small pistol primers marked No. 5 1/2? If there is a difference what is it?
  5. I have just purchased a Springfield XD in 9mm, a Springfield XDM in 40S&W, and a FN Browning Hi Power 40S&W. Do I need to Break the barrels in by cleaning after each spent round for the first ten rounds, and then cleaning after every fifth round until 20 more rounds fire?
  6. Okay, I need to start this thread again. I have recently purchased a Springfield XDM 40, and a FN Browning Hi Power 40. I will only be reloading my own brass shot with these two guns. Will I have the brass bulge problem using these two guns?
  7. Thank you Dan. I did not want to damage my rifle.
  8. I did purchase the manuals, I also talked with someone at Sierra, he recommended the RL15. I have since read (only one place) that the RL15 has too slow a burn rate for the gas operated M1A. IS THE RL15 TOO SLOW FOR THE M1A?????
  9. I am loading for a M1A & a AR-10. I purchased Reloader 15 powder, is this too slow a burn rate for these gas guns? Will it damage the guns? I purchased Match King 168 gr boat tale bullets and Winchester primers, any other thoughts?
  10. Several questions. First, does the rt1200 trimmer chamfer and debur? Or do you have to do this by hand later? Is this a good sequence - first tumble, then lube, set up 550b press with sizing die in station one, decap and size in station one, set up trimmer and die in station 3, trim in station 3, take brass and re-tumble, set up press with station one open, powder in station two, bullet seat in three, and crimp in station 4?
  11. Thanks for the info. Can anybody tell me the meaning of "crimped primer" in the 1X fired Lake City brass?
  12. I would like some feed back on how many times you can reload brass shot from a M1A. I have heard that Lake City brass is the best to use in a M1A. I can only find Lake City brass for a 308 in once fired condition. I have not been able to find new Lake City brass. Is it okay to reload once fired brass to use in a M1A?
  13. Thanks, It looks like I have several hours of research ahead of me.
  14. Thanks, I plan on reloading 308 Win. for an Armalite AR 10(T) carbine, and a Springfield M1A, and 30-06 for a Remington 742.
  15. Will IMR 4895 powder meter properly in the Dillion 550 progressive reloader?
