  1. TonyT, thanks for the tip. I called Ranch Products, and they're sending me a sample moonclip along with their catalog
  2. Ranch products makes an 8-shot 38 super moonclip? I gotta check that out
  3. ...but that pic shows the mount on the proper side of the gun!
  4. I have 38 Super brass that only gets used in the revolver. It'd been lasting a LONG time.
  5. I really like the S&W moonclips they offered for the 8-shot 627"s. They were made on a wire EDM machine, and had that neat little "slot" between each round. Last week I ordered some parts from S&W, along with some more moonclips. At $7 apiece they're pricey, but I like how securely they hold each round, and don't require any special tools to load or unload. What S&W sent me were TK customs style moonclips, even though the website clearly shows the now "old style" moonclips. I returned them. I can get TK's for less that half S&W's asking price. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_766007_-1_757842_757839_757837_ProductDisplayErrorView_N
  6. Seems to me the mount is on the wrong side of the gun?
  7. FTF means what to you? (fail to FEED or fail to FIRE..or both!?) switching the ejector? You sure about that? You still running the busted trigger?
  8. Darn, if I'da known there was gonna be a test, I would've kept notes! I've seen many a squib, and saw two guns have a case blow out (1911 & a Glock) I carry around a squib rod, but luckily haven't used it on one of my own in over a decade...I do loan it out though. A fellow competitor need it to push a 40 cal bullet out of his open gun last week
  9. Here's the chamfer's I put on my 625. Subtle, but sufficient
  10. I contacted Bob via PM's. Ordered a 4-post on Wednesday, and it's here on Friday. Nice product, nice Guy, great service
  11. I've spent a significant amount of time in my career as a plastic injection moldmaker.
  12. The hammer, sear and sear spring are half of the "trigger" that you're happy with. Add the disconnector, trigger and mainspring to replace all the ignition components. Seth, the dots are where the molten metal is injected into the mold cavity. It's called the sprue. The "casting container" is the mold. MIM parts are made from tool steels. It's just a different process. For the record, before MIM was created, Parts that were forged and machined broke. Colt slide stops were notorious for this.
  13. A Wilson 8-round mag with the .65 base pad weighs 2.4 oz. That would put my particular Kimber at 42.4 oz

Yes, it's very awkward. When clearing a jam the round can fall back into the gun too.
  16. My 45 cal Kimber Gold Match with an S&A magwell, ambi-safety and micarta "MonkeyGrips" weighs right at 40 oz without a mag.
  17. Beau-tee-full! Thanks for posting the pic
  18. Post pictures or it doesn't exist!
  19. Welcome aboard! Our crew shoots steel, and we'd be happy if you stopped by and checked it out. Lotsa fun. Follow the link in my sig
  20. Here's some N frame grips... Grey laminate "Miculek" grips on the 625, Here's the Ahrend's cocobolo grips I just got yesterday on my 627...sure are purty, and feel good too. Time will tell if I REALLY like them, though
  21. Vlad, glad you got your particular Mosquito running, but adjusting mags won't get the empties to extract. There are a lot of really good 22 auto's on the market. Why mess around?
  22. One of my shooting Bud's bought a new one. It just plain doesn't work. Spends as much time clearing jams as shooting the darn thing. Run, don't walk away from that Mosquito
  23. Great story! Glad your gun is all squared away
  24. Also note that all the gun's components should be checked for function, not just the thumb safety
