  1. Only have the TACCOM, no Invictus products. Thought it was only me, finding the shell tension a bit too tight. Leaving shells in over a couple of days, no change. Spoke with Tim, super nice guy, who suggested very light sanding, did that, using a shell as backing for the sandpaper, working only on the end plate holding the shell rims, 4-5 passes of the 320 sandpaper and its now easier to pop shells out, yet tension is tight enough. Went with TACCOM based on simplicity and rave reviews on BE, as well as price.
  2. According to a test of around 30 muzzle devices posted on "the truth about guns.com" its a very good comp. The best overall though was one made by precision armaments. Would look at that one first.
  3. While waiting for the Mossberg OEM hitch pin, you can get a slightly larger diameter one at a local hardware store that will work well, especially if you cut it just a bit shorter. Works for me. The one from the hardware store grips the pin tighter than the OEM. I keep the original as a spare.
  4. When mine was welded up by c-rums there was a pretty straight line across the front, no extended center that was likely to ignite a primer. I unload by pushing up on the lifter and then either pushing on the shell stop or shell release button.
  5. Damn, you guys are costing me money While I never had the issues this solves, I suppose it worth the peace of mind, plus it sure is cool looking!
  6. I like the concept, but its NOT so cheap (unless I am so cheap). However, the wife is looking for stuff to give me so will suggest this. Besides, why not support a forum member?
  7. CM, did you check to see if the latch hooks onto the the little tab on the left rear of upper receiver? Might be a problem with the hook/latch or the spring that tensions it, or the the tab is worn so not enough left to hook onto to. Have had no problems with my Raptor. Did the bolt used to lock back on the last shot and now its not? Any changes other than adding the Raptor? Yeah, your situation would be vary distracting...
  8. Check Ranier Arms and IWC. Is the SP3R keymod? If so, you may already have some built in QD swivel holes, just need the sling swivels. IWC makes a neat small bi pod mount for keymod. A pain to install, but works and is very low profile. Ranier and DSG have a lot of Seekins stuff.
  9. Yup, not only Pussies, but would rather rely on technology/gimmicks than actually practice good technique to get faster! Just kidding. Will try B Payne's technique of rolling shoulder forward and butt stock closer to center of chest next time i shoot outdoors. Main reason for LimbSaver pad for me is to get wife and daughter to shoot the JM. Son is OK with current setup, girls not so much.
  10. Ordered the Airtech version,# 10809, as tech support at Sims said its more effective. Will get here next week. Hope it doesn't make LOP too long, as its 1" thick, probably thicker than the OEM pad. May have to cut down stock, which will lead to pad overhanging butt...
  11. Had a small mid rib bead installed, paintend white, which I line up with the front FO. Less intrusive than a true rear sight.
  12. Sounds like Mossberg ought to either pay you a royalty or offer to buy the patent, and start incorporating your mod into their production line
  13. Thanks for the background update, suspected you tried to modify the oem part first. Since I am running a JM with a plated mag tube which unlike the SPX is not prone to rust, will hold off on your improvedesktop part for now, but will keep it in mind.
  14. Logiztix, did you try simply drilling the holes in the oem tube before creating the MST? The holes, and enhanded clearance in the middle of the tube seem to be the major changes. Wonder if drilling holes and lightly chamfering them, would be sufficient. I would try it if I could get a spare tube.
  15. Thanks, Mr Payne. Will have to try rolling shoulder forward and bringing in stock towards centerline. Helping with faster SG shooting is a major benefit as well.
  16. Would like to learn your technique, co-exprs. Can you please give specifics? Was thinking of clocking the brake, but then I would accentuate the issue shooting off side. Thanks, Mark.
  17. Looks good and it seems like an improvement on the stock item, BUT its twice the cost I would be willing to pay when I don't have any issues with the lightest loads I have (1 1/8 oz at 1145). Not sure if its intentional or not, but the rusting shown in the video should not occur in the JM, AFAIK, as the mag tube is either SS or nickel/chrome plated. Can see the rusting occurring on a non JM 930, but the video describes issues with the JM.
  18. Is info about length and weight available?
  19. Sounds like it's not quite ready for the market, so specs are subjet to change, hence they are not being revealed. Even Cmore's web site had no mention of this scope as of a few days ago.
  20. can you post a post a photo or preferably a video of how you pull the deuces out of the carrier? having a hard time seeing a curl as palm is facing inward. thanks.
  21. Mossberg is obviously at fault here, making a shotgun that requires the owner to clean and lube on rare ocassion. Not.
  22. Yes, it worked fine. Had the Ranier Arms version of Samson Evo, which I think has almost identical dimensions as yours. No interference between SLR and handguard, but the flexing due to the mickey mouse attachment system bothered me, so went to the Ranier Arms Force handguard. NO movement and its lighter than the Evo.
  23. Those slugs are great. Pretty accurate, and low recoil. Of course, your SG has to function with them. They run great in my JM930, but it seems the recoil operation of the 3K needs a heavier or faster slug. Not a criticism of the 3K, just the nature of the beast.
  24. Patrick, Do you think anything is gained by using this: http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/rifle-tools/barrel-tools/ar-15-m16-308-ar-barrel-extension-torque-tools-prod27452.aspx I attach a 1/2" breaker bar to the end, place breaker bar in a vise so this tool and upper are horizontal. Works on all uppers and no fear of tweaking upper. Useful for replacing muzzle devices as well as barrels.
