  1. The pump is faster for MAS or MOR but the 7600 series are inherently inaccurate.
  2. Hats off to the crew and Frank Garcia for running a great match! I never had any idea you could have such difficulty and fun without no-shoots, hardcover, and only one mover! If you guys and gals are going to make a match in the early part of the season next year, GO TO THIS ONE! Wish I could have stayed for the rest of the weekend but got some pretty cool video from the stages that will show up on a future PSV. FYI this match filled quick so next time there is an application available, send it in ASAP to get in. Thanks to the match staff and Frank for doing an awesome job!!! Wish they were all like this! Congrats to the JJ on the win! Way to go!
  3. For MOR or sniper matches? Mor you might want to crank a 123 up for the sniper matches you will want a 139 or 140 at about 2950+. :-)
  4. fomeister, First of all I have no idea who you are or what you are talking about as far as a DQ last year. Maybe if you reread what I posted you will understand it without having a knee jerk reaction. What I mean by serious multigunner is someone who shoots them all the time - not just top shooters. They have experience at SMM3G, RM3g, Ironman etc. In other words they have been there and done that before. People that come from the USPSA 3 Gun did not have any multigun experience until last years Nationals and that is where the problems came from. FYI most of the RO's didn't either. So get a reality check and realize that I wasn't referring to you - esp. since I don't even know who you are yet.
  5. Sparky, I like multigun stuff better. As for the DQ's at the Nat's, we had many shooters that have never had to unload a gun on the clock and most thought the best way to do it was to indiscriminately launch a round downrange. A couple of them didn't unload their guns or couldn't tell if there shot gun was unloaded because of round stuck in the tube. I do not remember any shooter that is a serious multigun shooter that was DQ'd last year. One thing that irritates me about USPSA 3gun is even if you aren't going down range with the next gun, the guns need to be unloaded when left on a table. FYI the scoring system for USPSA 3 gun sucks too. Use the IMG rules and you will attract a lot more shooters! Take care, Matt
  6. See you guys there! Couple of questions: BTW does anyone have any extra Black Hills ammo that I could buy for the match? Is there going to be a sight in area available? Are we going to have a lot of fun?? Thanks! Matt
  7. Not sure yet. Depends on flights etc.. Would absolutely love to. Jacob and Lisa's range is awesome. I sure hope so!
  8. Eric, First you get a box of all of them and figure out which one your gun likes the best. If there is no difference then you use the one with the best BC. :-)
  9. John, Yes you could, but you have to take the spring out of the stock. No assist is allowed. :-)
  10. Erik, the difference is insignificant at 3 Gun distances. Check out this link with the formulas. http://www.recguns.com/Sources/XIIC4.html :-)
  11. I love the USO scopes - if you can get one just do it! Since I use the Horus H25 reticle in my USO, I don't use the EREK knob. I am not sure if I would like it or not, can't really comment on it since I do not have any experience with it. Take care, Matt
  12. I took a hard look at that caliber and the issue is brass, barrel life, cost, and reduced magazine capacity. Try out some Berger bullets in your .308 with N550 powder. Think you may be surprised what you can do with it. Awesome BC's for the .308 and the 550 cranks them out! Use Varget for practicing since the availability and cost is significantly lower. The .260 is a pretty cool round. I haven't seen the problems knocking down steel that some have reported. Practice brass check out the Remington - for comps you may want to run the Lapua .243 and size it up the .20, great brass. FYI N550 yet again. Take care, Matt
  13. Finally got a couple of shots for you. :-)
  14. dajarrel, Thanks! Glad you like them! Take care, Matt
  15. There are actually many specific reasons I enter boxes to the right with my left foot. 1. No chance of over running the position. 2. Easier to set the body angle for better target acquisition/transition. 3. Smoother and seems to cause less damage to the knees. 4. If you lose footing with your left foot going in, you still have a foot to work with and save the entry. 5. If you point the left foot at the first target or most left target coming in, you will automatically position the stance for optimal structure. 6. Rolling the heel in allows you to start shooting on most targets when the other foot is just off the ground outside of the position. Remember that whatever level you come in at (heightwise) you stay at and leave at. Don't go into a position and stand up! That is an easy .25 lost. Remember to have the gun up and ready at least a step or two out of the position. That is the number one mistake people make. Either left foot or right foot can be fast even almost identical in the amount of time they take, but, I have found that consistency is the key to the movement on multiple surface types. Take care, Matt PS Thanks for getting the videos!
  16. Kimel, just call me. It will be easier. :-) FYI the reason that the hold point is not on the video is that people need to get out, practice and figure out where it is for their gun at the different distances. Every gun is different. Scope height, is the gun actually 90 degrees turned?, velocity, etc.. Take a sightin target - one with the little square boxes, put it at 100, then shoot a group. It will probably hit around the diamond on the 7 o'clock position. (the target I am talking about is the orange ones with the 1" squares and a big diamond in the middle with 4 smaller diamonds on the corners) Take care, Matt
  17. We will be! Even have access to a camera that can shoot through the scope while I shoot! Just don't know when we will be able to get to them. :-) Matt
  18. Umm, well, he does OWN the sport and can do whatever he wants with it.
  19. Well, the tab is ground off. Frigging pointless safety that was added for horseback riding anyway. Even John Browning thought they were stupid.
  20. Is it legal or not to disable a grip safety in the new rule book? I don't believe so, which sux btw.
  21. "NOTE: Modification of current holsters and ammunition carriers to meet IDPA criteria is acceptable" hehehe
  22. Umm, they aren't budging on the light tunnel issue. My comp-tac meets all the requirements except that and I sent photos to HQ. Apparently if I just use a heat gun and bend the front down so you can't see light it is okay. Then no spacer has been applied.
  23. Revised edition up until the 24th for comments - so let THEM know what you want changed. http://idpa.com/rule_info.htm Thanks, Matt
  24. I think the bolt throw is 60 degrees. It is a 3 lug bolt. Safety is on right side located on the bolt toward the rear. Everything can be done without moving your head off the stock - IE cycling weak or strong shoulder, mag changes, etc... Call me if you want any more info at 602-790-8838. I absolutely love that rifle and wish I had five more in the safe. Yeah, they are heavy but DAMN do they shoot!! Take care, Matt
