  1. I just completed setting up and tuning dies ( lee for now), very slightly used press I borrowed missing parts from friends I built a temporary portable dinner table mount I went to hardware store once yesterday 2 times today. I picked up what i could find of 100 primers from floor, table, press I must have removed, adjusted seating, reinstalled powder thrower 25 times I have bunch of dummy cartridges that need bullets pulled I have destroyed a few cases I broke a sweat I cussed I was super frustrated I sat in a bad position for so long, my butt and back ache from being in bad position for so long, chair is too low, stool is too high for proper ergonomics... will shop proper bench after range time tommorow I missed the indoor IDPA club match I under estimated time , it took much longer than I expected I loaded 2 rounds that plunk and spin I will recheck ,re weigh, re measure, then I will be @ indoor range (3 minutes away) when they open in AM to test a full mag I am now having a good cigar and even better bourbon for dinner...... feeling very, VERY satisfied
  2. i just put my 550 together I am confused by last step...
  3. I joined the Dillon botherhood yesterday!!!.... The 550 chapter!!!
  4. i just relieved gamaliel ( http://www.gamaliel.com/prodcat/reloading-components.asp)of some powder.
  5. I got my cz back from the shop she now has f/0 Red sight. And after last set of upgrades shoots like dream. Only spent a few minutes and 25 rounds at indoor range looking forward to Sunday and getting a good work out. I recently bought some captains of crush gripper to improve my grip. And I'm sure In time improve my shooting I'm using the "grease the groove" process. With the sport level 80 pounds and less often trainer @ 100 #. I can see graduating up to the. 100/ 120 range in a few weeks. I have to say the knurling on these is quite knarly. I'm planning on draws to blank wall, draws with par time. Get used to new f/0 sight Then at indoor range bill drill, doubles, shot transitions, reaction time singles, slow fire + 15 yards. and finally slow singles from holster draw.
  6. Welcome I'm from your neck of the woods i'm planning on rejoining gateway Do they still have the plate racks on back ranges?
  7. training has slowed to a crawl cz is away at shop i miss her and i just got belt holster and mag holders so only 1 day of draws before she went for upgrades/repair. then ran out of .45 boolits (range withdrawal) started new job.... less time to play/train for now..... still struggling with contact lens/vision issues..... re: dot torture ..... you actually shoot it farther than 6 yards??? my speed will be reallly slow for that fine aiming......
  8. its not high speed but home depot tool bag!
  9. i just got some 135's in and i have bullseye on hand big thanks
  10. Both 147 and 125 blue bullet. The 125 easier to pass case gauge, Nice tight groups 147 not as tight, but still minute of a- zone accuracy, And I have to cull some head stamps, prolly could get better with more testing 147 flat point easier to load. Still rare outlier problem brass... But much less temperamental than RN 147 regarding loading/ passing case gauge... All blue bullet. No leading Do your home work push test, for max oal. Then back off. For me. 147 RN @ 1.75. 147 flat nose @ 1.10. I wish the would make a NLG 147 flat..
  11. To clarify.... Do think the 14m lifter,,and disco... Are needed. Basically cleaning up take up and, reset, reach..... Already Getting more frequent sub .20 splits, And have never short stroked trigger.
  12. i will probably be in minority. But my vote is for base model and DIY. You will, get definitely get familiar with inner workings.and I feel like better product. Shadow has larger mag well, extra mag, extended mag release, different safety, fiber optic sights, no firing pin block, lighter recoil spring. In full disclosure I do not own a shadow, but have handled them extensively, I do own a DIY modded spo1 tactical. Even with firing pin block I'd say mine exceeds stock shadow in trigger feel. And is just short of a custom shop gun trigger feel due to reset and take up of trigger. As far as internals my tactical is only lacking 2 parts from a custom gun. You can feel a slight difference when handling gun in shop/ couch environ. However when shooting under pressure and after training with gun you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. I'm hoping to soon test side by side in near future, I going to sit Down and do cost comparison/spreadsheet this weekend. Stock spo1 vs shadow vs custom vs DIY custom I also like tinkering. And was very rewarding to see progress of build. I also appreciate It more having shot it in stock form. But the spo1/ spo1 shadow. Is a different frame compared to 75 / 75 shadow. As previous post notes.
  13. Brisix I may have barrel reamed? Did you see any drop in accuracy? Thing is I've got everything to fit and shoot well ( hand loads). I just had to cull out certain head stamps. bfalcon... I was being nice to the post lady and left her a note to leave pkg at post office......you know the 70# box isn't fun... Hell I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to carry it.
  14. See above. Then on cheek weld ear.. Moldable in ear.... Often available at gun (fun) show. The ones that are professionally fit. I'm with above post that the Leigh's do not provide enough protection! You'll occasionally find the leights on sale or as a group buy.
  15. Are either of your barrels reamed? I've read that the most custom shop guns are bbl are reamed. I' ve got a large sample of SNS @ post office. I started a new job. I can't get to post office until Friday to pick up bullets. I hate it when you can't get to your new toys right away!
  16. This question is for those that know what these parts are for, shoots competitively (ish), has done mods and has shot extensively both before and after mods I am now getting more frequent sub .20 splits without the 14m lifter, and disco. On a scaled uspsa target a-zone (majority) Because my splits are dropping and because I have trained the way it is I'm under the impression that these parts will "improve" my shooting. I'm a novice and would like you opinions pro or con. I figured I'd get more experienced opinion before I totally poo poo the idea Currently has a great polish job and has pretty much all other internal/ignition upgrades minus sear, lifter, disco. Thing is she shoots like a dream. As good if not better than tuned 1911 Please advise
  17. Used..... offer $400 If it's not considerably cheaper than new. I'd buy new
  18. I was thinking oal would bit longer with 135..... I was hoping to avoid issues with seating a bullet so deep. With 147 flat point. I did not have to cull out specific head stamps......
  19. thanks looking forward to nore testing when i get them
  20. Anybody loading these In your CZ's (short chamber) I've read that some have had issues with 135's some love them Just loading for a training round.... No power factor needs yet.... any pet loads with bullseye. I'm getting some of these in this week to test. I like the idea of,splitting the difference between the 125. And 147. (. Which I relally can't feel that that much of a difference between as far as recoil response

Wow it adds up. And fast. I m heading in same general direction. I think I'm going to pass on I just didn't think it would almost double the original purchase price. It's toys and mine shoots and feels like a $2500 gun already. I'm not liking the 11# recoil spring I'm getting too much upward flip. I'm faster splits with heavier spring. I should have both the tuner pac. I too had a " wrinkle"
