  1. I am thinking about getting the 3X magnifier for my aimpoint with the larue swing mount but I am questioning if it is worth the money. I have shot a little 3-gun and hope to shoot more in the coming years, along with a few rifle only matches and some yote hunting. Will this really make that much difference?
  2. Just remember the "free lunch tickets" you will be issued at checkin are not standard for major matches There are free lunch tickets? I hope they are still serving the steak tip sandwiches that they had at the last club match because that was pretty awesome after a morning of shooting. It was WELL worth the hour I spent in the bathroom when I got home
  3. Heading down and looking forward to my first major match!
  4. Just apply the oil lightly, then blow them out with a little compressed air and you should be fine. The primers do not really come in contact with the dies that much anyway. At least in my experience I have not had any problems.
  5. I started this past fall at age 27. Currently C class Limited 10 but have been practicing pretty hard to get to A before the end of the year.
  6. 230gr. Hornady HAP with an OAL of 1.25. Anyone use something similar? What do you put in it for a charge of tight group?

    Firing pin tube?

Yes that is what I was talking about. I stripped it all out last night to replace a few things and wondered how I would go about replacing that without destroying it. I guess I now have my answer. Thanks guys!

    Firing pin tube?

How would you know it needs replacement and how do you actually get it out? I detailed stripped the gun last night and could thing of a way to actually get it out
  9. Glad I do not have to worry about that with my Brittney Spaniel
  10. An easy way to get the light to go off without paying someone to do it is just unhook your battery and then hook it back up again. Should work like a charm.

    "ZEN"

    It's a league game smokey!
  12. Ok, what would be the downside of also putting in a stronger firing pin spring along with the new trigger bar? I am currently running a reduced recoil spring, would have to put that back to stock?
  13. Thanks, I have been having problems with this recently but at first I thought it was the new press I was using (SDB). I usually get 2-3 light strikes per 100 rounds even though I try and check the primers ahead of time. I will give this a shot because it is really killing my match times.
  14. Does anyone have a link to the new trigger bar and enhanced striker spring?

    Finger in butt

I agree the loser should be able to hold down a job after his "ordeal". That being said, Dr. Jelly Finger might have been a touch out of line as well
  16. I don't love him or hate him. I simply and accurately noted he has progressed to the point in his career where he cherry picks where and when he will apply the energy to play in a tournament, and sometimes that attitude shows in his play (ie, when he's out of it he checks out mentally). Young guys are still thrilled to be able to win and give it 100%. maybe Nicklaus got lazy when he felt he had made his name. maybe Mickelson is doing the same thing now, he sure doesn't put out the effort he used to. My point is that young guns like Trevor still want to play and show up to play. Somebody with the fire like he has eventually will be the guy who pushes Tiger into the "former great" category. I hope you are not looking to see this anytime soon because it is going to be AT LEAST 10 years before ANYONE puts tiger in the "formerly great" catagory even with only playing a few matches a year.
  17. I agree and I disagree. I agree he will win as much as he wants to, but I think his mental game is far and away the best - maybe in the world. Yeah he gets frustrated when he makes a bad shot....so do I. I bet most of the shooters here would be frustrated if they blew a stage - and that's without even having professionals in this sport vying for millions of dollars or the equivalent of a green jacket. Yeah he gets pissed at himself when he blows a shot - can you really blame him? Just because he is a professional athlete does that mean that he can't even get upset anymore? What you see as whining I see as the frustration that stems from not performing like you know you are able to. I don't really agree that he is acting like he's doing everyone a favor by showing up. But the thing I disagree most about is that because he makes money in endorsements he doesn't feel he needs to work hard at it. I'm pretty sure he has put more work into his game than just about anyone in the world has at anything. A lot of good point in there! That is the thing that makes Tiger so good is he can get pissed after a bad shot (which is only human) But completely wipe the slare clean and be at a perfect level of focus for the very next shot which is usually a good one. THAT is the key to being a champion! As far as his work ethic, anyone who challenges that knows very little about golf and Tiger. The man has a workout regiment similar to that of an all pro corner, and has a level of consistancy which his ball striking that can ONLY come from thousands of hours of CORRECT repetition. I may sound like a Tiger homer but coming from someone who knows how much work it takes to get to a 10 handicap, seeing what he makes look VERY easy on TV seems nearly impossible.

  19. How is that? He just can not MOVE and shoot. You can still prop yourself up and work on a few things

I am not sure if you reload but you might want to mix up some dummy rounds to put in the mag for practice so the weight is the same as live fire. If you do not reload see if a friend will make some up for you. I actually put some lead split shot in the bullets to make them even heavier which helps with speed going back to a lighter "full gun". Just make sure you mark the dummy rounds VERY clearly in order to make sure there is never any confusion with live ammo!
  21. This just in.......apperently the whole state of New Jersey has been destroyed by what appears to be a round house kick!
  22. Its pretty common with new reloaders. You're not pushing the handle forward with enough force on the return stroke to fully seat the primer. Are you standing while reloading? It helps you get leverage. That is what I thought, I guess I just need to get some more practice at it this weekend. And yes I load standing up. Thanks for the replies guys!
