  1. I just got a SDB in .45 ACP a few months ago and have been having a few issues with my primers not always seating fully. Is this something that is common for a new reloader? Will this get better when I get a little more feel and experience!
  2. The SDB is a great choice for someone just getting into loading especially if you are not shooting rifle. Don't be susprised if you upgrade at some point in the near future though
  3. I had the CLEP my freshman year, but a Z pack cleared that right up Ah yes, nothing like a little VD to complete the college experience. Man I wish I could go back
  4. To be honest I think more people use the XD 9mm in the production division but there is nothing that says you could not use the .45 as well. I beleive you could also shoot Limited or Limited 10 and make major power factor so keep that in mind. As far as another choice for competition I would check out IDPA as well. Aside from that, I have no other options in my area so I can not be of any help. Good luck and have fun!

I like to picture Jesus in a tuxedo T-Shirt because it says I want to be formal, but I'm here to party.
  6. And then of course any movie with a Ron Jeremy cameo is worth its weight in gold
  7. And the funniest quote in that whole move, after they blow the cat all over the wall......"is it dead?"

  11. Have someone else verify, but I have a friend using 4.5 grains Titegroup OAL 1.24 - 1.25 That is exactly what I am shooting right now through my G21 which I like. But every gun and even barrel are different.
  12. That is some good stuff right there! It is nice to know there are others out there suffering the same pain
  13. I have seen a few 2011 guns which have a groove cut in the grip to make it easier to reach the mag release with your thumb. I was thinking about doing the same thing with my G21 as I have smaller hands and sometimes have to shift my grip a bit to reach the extended release. Has anyone had any experience with this? I know I will have to be carefull to not take too much material away or I will break through. Is there anything else I should worry about?
  14. I was going to replace it with a SS one anyway so hoepfully that makes a difference. Just odd that it would happen right out of the box from Para!
  15. Every so often while shooting the slide release will start backing its way outward in my Para 1911 causing all sorts of problems. Anyone know why this might happen?
  16. Well I went home last night and belled the cases a little more. What do you know, all is now right in the world! Cranked out 200 rounds with only one that would not fit in the case gauge. Thanks for the help guys!
  17. Thanks for the replies guys. I will be trying that tonight and hopefully cranking out a bunch of rounds!

  20. Well...I did have a meatball sub for lunch.....
  21. So if they are not flared enough when it is time to seat the bullet it would cause this problem? I will try and get some pictures when I get home tonight!
  22. I am pretty sure. Enough the the bullet sites in the case very easily!
  23. I just got my SDB yesturday and swithched everything over from my Lee turret press. It was a used Dillon and was already pretty much set up for .45. Now when I got the powder charge and the bullet depth right I started loading some cases and had a little bit of an issue pop up. Every few cases I would get one that looked sort of caved in on one side and it would not even come close to fitting in the case gauge. This is happening somewhere in the bullet seating and then crimping process but I am not sure what is causing it Anyone have any suggestions?

    Twins!

You had asked me what I do with my Glocks. I haven't really changed much over the years. - Factory extended mag release - Standard (NON-extended) slide stop/release - grip tape - Good fixed sights. I've been using a set of modified Heinie Slant Pros for years, but the Warren (Sevigny) sights are what I would go with. - 25 cent trigger job. I wear 3 Safariland mag pouches, in front of a double mag pouch. Loader mag goes in a pocket. (I start with 10+1 in the gun and 5 more mags on the belt.) I run a stock recoil spring in the 9mm. My loads are 125's and TG at 135+ pf And that right there is why I love them! For about $700 you can be ready for a match with a solid shooter in your hand!
