  1. Anything under a second "every time" is good. I know at 7 yards .6 - .7 are possible but A hits at that speed are more from index than sight picture in my experience. That is the hardest part, everytime. I practice reloads everyday and it takes that type of practice for me to maintain a sub 1 second reload in practice. I am about 1 - 1.1 in matches. BE says in his book that they need to be instant, so take that however you want and be patient, and don't force it. The speed will come with time and focus. See what you need to see, sight/magwell/sight, and in the long run mag changes will be second nature.
  2. George, Ask the LAPD why they don't use 9mm anymore.
  3. Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! God save us from the hose fest!!! More black and white is the cure not getting rid of DVC.
  4. Living in Bend is great!!! Cinders are replacing the the dirt this week at the range in the parking lot. If you take 4 days off you can shoot the 3 gun match also
  5. Only one problem I see. You would make obsolete millions of dollars in guns and reloading supplies. Personal it would cost me about 2k-3k+ to re-barrel/slide all my competion guns to 9mm. There would be no reason to shoot 40, 45, or 38 super if 9mm will do. If you know someone is shooting minor, you can always inform the Range Master and let him deal with it. Not a bad thought in theory, but implementing it would be very hard to convince people of. Also, shooting bb guns (9mm) is not as much fun as shooting guns that go BOOM IMO.
  6. Um, current day ISPC shooting in not revolver friendly. That is revolvers can not compette against auto's in stages over 6 rounds. If you want to shoot revolvers that's fine, everyone else with a revolver has the same challenges in a COF, but revlovers are not competive overall in IPSC shooting and I don't see a reason any stages should be cattered to accomidate them when revolvers are such a tiny pecentage of IPSC shooters. IMO It has become a "for fun" or novelty class. The attraction for revolver shooter is the same as that for auto shooters, we get to shoot.
  7. Jack, I find putting anything on the feed ramp works good for a few rounds, but most lubes tend to attract the powder residue. What I find that seems to work best in my guns is to keep the feed ramp polished (dremel tool ) This method seems to attract the least amount of powder residue while giving a good slipery surface for the bullet.
  8. You will be faster with one, or you wouldn't see one on every race ready gun. The worse you are at the reloads the bigger mag well you buy
  9. Why clean it? Read BE recommendation on slide glide and Schuemann's recommendation on barrel cleaning and save your time
  10. I personally have never seen a case that will fit in a case guage without resizing.
  11. I'm sure it was delivered better by Kevin Spacey, but it is a good line.
  12. "The Usual Suspects" a great flick
  13. PMC has been around a long time and their stuff seems to be good quality. I have used a ton of once fired and it seems just as consistant as the other guys.
  14. Get you butt off the couch, less beer, pototo chips, fast food and move 30 minutes everyday
  15. You can't find it because it doesn't exists. You can not pre-place them in a course of fire. They don't have to be in mag pouches, you can have them in your pockets. After the buzzer goes you can place them on the ground if you wish, not before
  16. I respect you opinion of the intent of the rule, but I don't believe it is applicable to this situtation at all. "I guess I see the repositioning of the mags to the back pocket for a single stage as a violation of the intent of 5.3.5. JMO" 5.3.5 Doesn't address where you place your magazines at all, only your holster and mag pouches. I don't even want to get into intent of rules, it brings back too many flashes of the Clinton era. I go by the letter of the rule when I have to make a call, not what I think the intention is. BTW, I and many people I shoot with almost always carry a magazine in our back pockets, just in case.
  17. Ditto with 40 and 9mm, not worth the hassle to pick it up.
  18. ROFL, I hope you are not seriously considering wearing two holsters at one time. That is too weird for me. I know that any one draw would NOT be worth wearing 2 holsters for a match, but if you where to wear 2 holsters the entire match, the rulebook, as I read it, doesn't prohibit you from switching which one you place it. This in no way applies to the original question, as magazines are treated differently than guns, ie. you can drop a mag during a match, but not a gun.
  19. Muser, I don't get your point? That isn't changing the holster position or its allied equipment . You could tuck them in your waist band or socks if you felt the need.
  20. I would have to agree with the RO, you should know the start position when you go to the line. Could you imagine the pain having to explain the stage's start position to every shooter that comes to the line? I don't mind a RO asking if I understand the course of fire, because it is a courteous thing to do, and shows he is willing to clarify any questions you may have. It doesn't take much to nod my head. I think that at the club level it isn't a big deal if they use the technically correct words, but sometimes shooter just don't like to listen to the RO's and they just do things on sound. They hear a noise and they load their gun when not told to LAMR, and then get DQ'd and then whine about it. It is the shooters job to pay attention to the RO and LISTEN to the range commands.
  21. I would just put them in my back pocket. It is technically a pouch.
  22. Sorry, I can't do that because you live the the PRK (People's Republik of Kalifornia)
  23. Thanks for the tip, I tried it last night and I like the way it feels. I seemed to lighten the trigger up a little also.
  24. Get an Aftec and you don't have to bend them.
