  1. Chuck at Shooters Connection can hook you up too.
  2. Holy cow, I don't feel so silly now I forgot to adjust the little white plastic piece that pushes the cartridge over in the priming stage when I changed it from .40 to .38 super. I made a primer go bang. Time for a new primer tube and the little plastic piece on the top of the low primer sensor. I'm glad I have a 1050. I would hate to see a whole primer tube go up.
  3. After I say you definitately don't need a fiber optics front sight, I didn't make GM in limited until I ditched the FO sight, they are simple to make with a couple tiny drill bits and a file. Drill a hole the size of the fiber optic you would like to use parallel with the top of the sight. Next use a next sized up drill bit and drill a countersink at the hammer end of the gun. Last use a flat file to remove create a notch in the middle of the sight. Good luck.
  4. I did something stupid and once again Dillon sent me free parts and they didn't even make me embarrass myself by explaining how I could have broken the parts I did. HINT don't force the downstroke on a 1050, it can generate a LOT of force.
  5. I like the CR speed belt and mag holders. You can use the mag holders for single stack 1911's, Sig P226, Glock, SVI, STI, Caspian, Para, and many more. Any of the molded holsters should be good, just stay away from Fobus.
  6. Ok, I think I figured this one out, different than Short Round andways so I'll post it Stand back far enough on the barricade so you don't have to bring the gun back between the left to right transition. Draw to T1-T2 then T4-T3 as you are falling off the barricade. For me this was the way to cut time, it is a more direct gun movement than taking T2 first. Hit the right corner of box b with the left foot and start shooting as your right foot leaves the ground. Open M - 50 points had a D leaving the barricade and two C's in 5.64 seconds HF 8.8652
  7. Buy more magazine, lots of magazines Frank is a good instructor, but don't expect to be coddled, he is one of the most sucessful teachers for a reason. Leave any ego you may have at home and take notes, lots of notes, because by the end of it you will be tired (in a good way) Have fun!
  8. If you built your single stack in 38/9mm you could always just get a SV frame fitted, that would be very reasonable.
  9. No need to spend close to $4100 for a race gun. You can buy a hardly used one for half that. Shooting both will teach you a lot because they are a lot different. Shoot what you enjoy If you have both it can be a good diversion when you get burned out on one.
  10. +2 find the back knob one a c-more and you should be fine.
  11. Tangfolios are good quality firearms, and I would have to disagree with it being a CZ clone. I think the CZ is a clone of the Tanfolio I love the way the fit the hand.
  12. What you see on match day is what should count, rigth? Without the evidence to score the hit (ie. a hole) should a scoring hit be issued? I've seen so many people miss that claim a "perfect double" and I've seen may be 1 or 2 that have been dang close to perfect doubles. As a scorekeeper it makes sense to score what is visible on paper, doesn't it? Knowing the extremely rare frequency of true perfect doubles, it seems it would be fairest just to score the visible hits instead of issuing hits for misses, which occurs much, much, much more often. We have targets so that we can score each run. The evidence of the score is a hole. Seems simple enough, but then again I can be very simple minded. YOMV
  13. I just read MV's article on doubles in FS. If it is a perfect double you have to score it Hit Value and Miss. If there is no evidence of two shots, you can't give two scoring hits, that is just the way it should be IMHO.
  14. You are lucky you can still buy it without a huge hassle. Our moron of a governor (Oregon) got the stuff regulated here, and they require ID to purchase it and they log the purchases. Heil Kulongoski, frigin' moron, the meth cooks just have to cross the border in Portland to Washington and can buy as much as they want.
  15. If you are just going to do pistol the square deal is better than the 550 IMO. Production is a good option too.
  16. I don't think it matters, just make sure that your mags are full when you come to the line. If it is cold and nasty out I'll load them in the cozy warmth of my home, if not, it isn't a big deal to load them at the range. If you can't load youg mags the nights before, get new mags.
  17. Jerry Barnhart says in his tapes that even though he does it, he wouldn't recommend anyone else do it. You can take that for what it is from someone who knows a bit about shooting. My take on it is that unless you have short tendons in your wrist, if you put your finger on the trigger guard you most likely aren't getting your weakhand wrist locked out.
  18. You forgot a small flat bladed screwdriver and needlenose pliers (for removing and replacing the mag catch spring), the dremel, and a magic marker (for rolling down the edges of Tru-Grip Grip tape), and the rear sight tool, and a 1/4 drive socket for the front sight socket. Add some loctite for the front sight screw...... Man you guys spend way too much time cleaning guns
  19. Sorry Pierruiggi, I should have stated most inexperienced shooters can't tell the difference, and I've known many and experienced shooter do the same (with a dot mounted to the frame the sight doesn't move at all) and it happens so fast many know it doesn't look right and it doesn't click right away. If you shoot 10 rounds often that makes a big difference, limited shooters should run out of rounds much less often.
  20. It means if you bet $100 and you win $330. -450 means you have to bet $450 to win $100
  21. Most people don't know that they are at slide lock, and I've seen tons of people try to pull the trigger with the slide locked open. Behind the sights it looks the same.
  22. I'd vote no on a slide lock. I can't think of a possitive reason to have it function, because I've seen too many of them malfunction.
  23. Q-tips, slide glide (cut with oil for the cold months), and trigger slick, and some cold rebluing for the sights, thats about it for regular maintainence for me.
  24. Excepts from our latest club newsletter: Grant check for 1000-yd range said to be in the mail. November building start a possibility. Well, the latest news from the front is that the 1000-yard range construction grant check from the Feds via the ODFW is in the mail and should be here by the time you read this. I'm not a long range rifle shooter, but I'm excited our range is getting another upgrade so if your in Central Oregon in the spring, come and check it out!
  25. ...snd no amount of gaming won't beat a great shooter with a bone stock gun, there are many levels of delusion
