  1. In all seriousness, just stick with the 24" barrel. The perception of what you get with a 3" shorter barrel and what you actually get is so minuscule you might as well save your money or spend it on ammo. I have both a an M1 w/21" and a M2 w/24" and honestly the difference is hardly noticeable. Ultimately after you put and extended mag to load after the buzzer you basically have a 24" barrel anyhow. Your ROI is gonna be small and the time it takes to send it off to be cut and choked or scour the classifieds daily for the impossible deal really don't justify what you get at the end of the day. 2. The match hotel will be the Fairfield Inn. I will have a link and Ref# number to reserve the rooms. All the info will be posted at 3gunnation.com tomorow. Rob
  3. I am currently working on the match hotel. Once I secure a block of rooms at the lowest rate possible, I will have the info posted with the room inventory available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please hold off booking a room just yet. I want to see what discounts 3GN can secure for food and lodging. Rob Thanks Rob, I appreciate it. Just make sure if we get any food discounts it's at more than just Chick Filet and Taco Bell. I make no promises.

  5. We'll keep digging untill the slots are full. With the top 30 getting a shot in Las Vegas I'm positive there are guys just waiting for the opportunity should it come along. Rob
  6. Jesse, Chuck, Charles and the rest asking questions about semi-pro, amateur and the Pro Series qualification for 2013. I have received your emails and forwarded them to Chad as he is working on those details as I write this. There is a lot of info that needs to be sorted out as well as what the best way is to move forward. We are being careful on what is released to the public because going back and revising the info every week is unacceptable. Once the details are finalized and we feel the info is understandable and straight forward it will be made public. The simplest way I can put it is if your not in the Pro Series, shoot the Divisional Series for the Hornady cash prizes. If you feel you would have a better shot in Semi pro sign up for that or Amateur. Those last two divisions have less restrictions and allow you to shoot any division at any match on the roster for the whole season, Trooper and WW2 included. Semi-pro and Amateur will be prize based and will be announced when the sponsor commitments have been sorted out. The two 3GN produced matches are the top priority right now and I have been extremely busy getting the newly designed props and targets sorted out. I will try to answer the emails specifically from the above 3 names but until the official release it's just speculation. Thank you for your patience. The deadline for the Pro Series is almost up so the next thing will be to send out the next wave of invites to the 65th-100th place positions. We have a list of names without contact info right now. If you know or have contact info for these gentlemen please contact chad@3gunnation.com Ty Gentry Daniel Nickel Andrew Daun Erik Lund Kerry Dematos Craig Salmon Marc Weasler Rick Birdsall Sean Smith Jerry Bonura Jamie Foote Chris Cazin John Mouret Sean Dexter Michael Fordyce David Schuster Doug Johnson Greg Purcell Kevin Cates Garry Pullen Joe Cuccia Thanks Rob 3GN DoC
  7. smokshwn, Thank you for that well thought out response. I know I could not have said it any better. Rob
  8. Yep, I shot in their squad. I really liked the setup and plan on bugging them about "beta testing" the product. Even better was the forward QD socket that was attached to the barrel band and exposed through a cut in the forearm... Can't attach a link, go the website under NST products and you will find this product

  10. The major problem IMHO is the lousy target presentation, and every MD is guilty. From unrealistic size targets that you can't see and just shoot at to engage without any intent of hitting to this misguided notion with fluorescent backers that conceal impacts and don't allow correction. If you want people to shoot irons give them a target they can see from 8am-5pm that is proportionate to the distance. Since we are on the subject how about painting them too between squads with irons getting priority or 1st shooter preference. I believe this would level out the divisions and swell the prize table as well. The only difference between LIm and Tac is the scope to see the targets. I shot the last 3 matches of the season and the target presentation was disgraceful and somewhat disrespectful to the Iron shooters in both divisions. HM rant off. The MDs will kill the division off if they continue down this path. What's wrong with a standard size target like 10" flashers from 100-200yds, 12" from 300-400yds and 8" from 50-100yds. Keep them white so you can see them against your black irons. Rob
  11. Try clipping a coil off the pin spring and bending the trigger spring legs back to increase hammer force. I was having the same problem and this solved it. Now for the rare occasion the primer is recessed I got nothing but the standard issue WTF and rack the bolt. Rob
  12. Barry I have been down this road before. What you want is the PRI clamp on gas block and then add a Troy flip up front sight. The block is receiver height so you can now use standard same plane AR-15 sights. http://www.precisionreflex.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=186676&CAT=4211 Cam eluded to my revised HM set up, when I can I will post pics. Rob If you decide to go with a ARMALITE platform we have a 18" barrel set up for Irons at end of the barrel.
  13. I ran a 16" Mid length(standard port size-whatever that happens to be) with a Young Heavy NM carrier, Tubb CS flatwire spring, MGI buffer and a SF comp. The gun ran real smooth, had barely any recoil and cycled anything I fed it. The 16" barrel ran well with heavy components but when I switched to an 18" the gun would not run. I went to a standard rifle buffer, spring and Young light carrier and still had problems with the ammo loaded for the shorter barrel. All the ammo was loaded with AA2015, a very fast burning powder. I switched to Hodgdon's BenchMark powder a slower powder and the gun is back up and running. With all the parts and gear I had, something simple like powder selection was one of the main problems. Don't overlook the powder if you're handloading. Rob
  14. Drop the bolt, load 8, press the trigger, rack the bolt and get it done. Way over simplifed but you get the picture. Instead of fumbling to load the chamber and then load 3 shells just go ahead and drop the bolt and load it back up to 8. On a Benelli the next round is released by the button or the trigger. So pulling the trigger on an empty chamber releases the last round you loaded onto the lifter and racking the slide loads it. Now all you have to do is realize the gun only has 8 and try not to go to slide lock again.
  15. Leave one last clay to shoot and load a slug, shoot the clay and and now a slug is in the chamber ready to shoot. If your talking about an immediate action load, I think the 1100 releases a shell when the bolt is racked so your out of luck.
  16. Trapr, I am pretty sure I sent my app but I can't recall or find the email. We are heading out anyways so can you let me know if it was recieved? Rob I have been loading off the shoulder and I am starting to like it. The stages look great, see ya out there Saturday.
  17. If I sign up for Tactical can I switch to Heavy? Got some things in the works and don't know if I can commit to Heavy just yet. Rob
  18. He was running the camera and taking notes. Oh, I have tried it and it feels faster, but the distance and the position of the shells when your hand is fully extended is iffy at best with me. It's like trying to reload a pistol with the gun fully extended, and the reload for me at least feels more intuitive and natural as well as being fully ingrained from the pistol aspect. I do suggest people try both but the key is not dropping them and that leads to consistancy which is the base for fast reloads. Rob
  19. And for post #6 Ahh, the magic of editing. I just had a daughter so I am trying to clean up my image, so to speak. Anything on youtube can and will be used against you, so I was trying to exercise some forethought. I hope this video helps out and answers some of the more common and repeated questions on the weak hand reload. M50
  20. If I had two more hands I would give it 4 thumbs down. Don't go away mad, just go away.
  21. I can't believe you wrote this. I could believe that Rob would have wrote it sence he kicked tail on this stage. I know you just like punishment. Mine will be going out in the morning. Relax fellas there's enough to go around. I don't think I'll have my SX3 ready for this match though. Rob Mike, do you and Gimme-Gimme want to squad up with Team Adventure Travel?
  22. Thanks Andy, it will go out tomorrow. Sorry for taking so long. Rob Are you gonna use IPSC targets like they did at FB3G? I liked the scoring system better with targets everyone is familiar with.
  23. Has the match filled up yet? Wanted to send off my app tomorrow. Rob 1st post, haha
