  1. Would you post a link to the answer - I need that too - I have been grinding then using a lee case trimmer to final size - very tedious and messy.
  2. I had erratic hard reloading in my 1100 - turned out I had some rust in my mag tube - gave it and the follower a full polish and clean up - made a real difference.
  3. I handload a light load with Lyman slugs - shoots soft in my 1100 and flys true.
  4. Joel - I looked at your portfolio and you are a gifted artist. I cannot write a press release and I think you also should find someone to work with - do you have peers in the local community that you can get a referral from? You had a bad experience with a very unprofessional writer, but there is no reason to think that was the best available. Use your draft as a starting point for a real professional to work from. I am impressed with your work. Your endeavor is worthwhile. Jim
  5. That should run like a top - what did the GS say that is doing your trigger job?
  6. I shot HS6 minor with 124g for quite a while in my CZ75 but when I switched to Glock I switched to TG. You will have no problem with it, but the recoil feel may not be optimal - I prefer faster powders.
  7. If it is just a slick feel then I would not take any additional action. A little lube on the cases makes them resize easier and feed slicker too.
  8. I run the MG 124s in my Glock 34 with TG and can get PF with 4.1 g - I used to run a 226 and it was always slower on the Chrony than other guns of the same barrel length - always accurate though. Some folks go to a Barsto barrel in the Sig to pick up some velocity.
  9. Yes - I noticed this on the Glocks - but seems to be universal even down to my 629 revolver.
  10. Welcome - that is a fun match - Mark works hard to make it fun for us. I missed it last Saturday for graduation. Are you at UAH? There are several IDPA matches in the area and that is another venue worth considering.
  11. 12 yds - is my standard practice distance - I am no bullseye shooter but using target focus I can shoot heads to 15yds - past that I aim with conventional attention to front sight. Shooting groups I use conventional aiming and the need for right windage is present from 10yds.
  12. I use a target centered focus and move the gun into alignment with my eye and the target. Anything under 15 yards I point shoot - it is only a tight head shot or the odd 25/30 yd shot that the sight really matters.
  13. I shot a 226 for years and bought the 250 when it first hit the stores. It never felt as good or was as reliable as the 226. The shorter barrel was not an asset in competition. I went straight from it to a Glock and stayed Glock. I keep the 226 as a carry weapon it is a superior firearm.
  14. I do not think it is grip or cant but I will experiment next time at the range. I wondered if it was some form of parallax but others do not seem to have it - just an oddity, I reckon unless someone has some science or similar experience to relate.
  15. I am a long time pistol shooter - reasonably accurate - EX in SSP and ESP. I have to adjust my sights slightly to the right in order to center the group - if I pick up anyone elses gun I hit left if they pick my gun up they hit right. I am left eye dominant - is this some aspect of eye dominance? Folks have thought I was jerking the gun but they do not see it when I shoot and my accuracy is above average. Thoughts or theories?
  16. Leading has a lot of variables. Pressure - flame temp - fit to barrel. You really need to try them and see how they work for you. 900fps is pretty standard for lead without a gas check. Some barrels work great with lead and some do not - lead will polish a barrel and leading may stop as the round count goes up. There is a scientific method to figure hardness required that balances hardness to pressure - but what the heck try it. Too hard can also cause leading.
  17. You wanted a new one anyway, right? Now you can get the one you always wanted.... Well, this one was working fine, but when life hands you lemons...Thanks Grump, yes I did need a new one! I have done this - two shots in same chrony and it still works but it sure is not pretty.
  18. Glocks are a total rip - they are just out there for those guys that want a gun that works every time and you can customize to your preference and you might want to trade later since they keep their resale value. Totally, you want to go with the Sigma - it is none of those things.
  19. Solvability

    OEM barrel

    yes - inside and out.
  20. I go to the Dollar store and look for the cheapest available.
  21. I am able to run a 17 a 34 and a 22 on a 22 frame without changing the lower. There is some concern with the ejector but mine works.
  22. Not at all normal - I installed mine myself and went slow and followed the directions - works right every time. Did you have any feeding issues prior to the install?
  23. I recently tried it behind 9mm 130g BBI when I was out of W231 and did not find it smokey or dirty fired 100 rounds in a quick practice session and will use it again - meters well. It does not stink like S1k either.
  24. Same here in the not so "sunny" South.
