  1. I recently purchased an SVI sight tracker and before I got my extra mags, I was practicing my reloads and now I have two mags that will not drop out when I press the mag release. I have kept these two mags seperate so I know which ones they are, but eventually I will need them (like for the Ironman!!!). So my question is, what do I need to do to fix these? When I press the mag release I can feel the frame of the gun sort of swell up. When I release the mag button, the mag will then sort of come loose, but still will not fall free. I have to pull it out. Thanks in advance for any help! TG
  2. Cool pics! We didn't have that much snow for our 3 gun, but it was a little colder....9 degrees when I left my house to go set up. We did have a great turn out though. We had about 23 shooters and 5 first time 3 gunners! I couldn't believe it. I wish we got snow like that around here. TG
  3. Ed!! I had to think about it for a minute but I was able to put a face with the name! Travis here. Dennis and I shot an IDPA match with you in VA earlier this fall. Normally I would just send you a PM to say hi, but I have a pretty unique set up with my press so I thought I would respond. 1.I am at about 27,600 rounds loaded on my press right now, and I have never had a squib. I do have a powder check, but the thing is every time before I start loading, I have a little ritual I go through. Load up the primer tubes, fill up the powder tube, spray a little One shot on my cases and fill up the hopper and go to town. I was reallly nervous about going to my first big match after I started reloading, so I weighed a couple of rounds. Not even a .01 gr of change. From then on, I just keep filling up the empty spots and pulling the handle. I am even getting my 9 year old started. I am tired of loading all of his bullets. It's time for him to do his own! (and maybe some of mine ) 2. I have my press mouted on a piece of 1/4" plate that is about 20" square. When I get it where I want it, I clamp it down with a pair of 11R's (Vice Grips). When I want to move it, I can pick the whole mess up by myself if I need to. It is pretty cumbersome, but it can be done. 3. I am not lucky enough to have a bench yet so I don't have any thoughts at all on this. The one thought I do have is that the deeper the bench is, the harder it will be to reach the stuff in the back when you are sitting down. 30" is pretty deep! My $.02 FWIW Good to hear from you. Tell your wife I said hello, and have a great new years. TG
  4. That is great guys! Thanks for all of the info. This will give me a good place to start. Good to hear from you Hiro. I'll let Mike know you said hello. Happy Holidays to all! TG
  5. I would have sworn I saw this somewhere, but after doing a search, I can't find it. Does someone have a good load for 147gr bullets and Titegroup? I am thinking around 3.4gr, but I don't know for sure. Right now, I am using Rainer bullets, but I think I am going to switch up to MG's. TIA. TG
  6. I had pretty good luck with the bullets, but after buying literaly hundreds of thousands of bullets from them and getting TERRIBLE customer service, I am now going with Montana Golds. They are a little more money, but I am just sick and tired of the crappy service and prices that go up and down by the minute! TG
  7. This might be ovious to everyone but just in case, DPMS stands for Defense Procurement Management Services if I am not mistaken. We talked with Dustin at DPMS the day after the sale was finalized, and he said none of the structuring of the company is going to change. Randy is still going to be the man in charge. This is good because we will still see Randy supporting the shooting sports! TG
  8. You and yours will be in my prayers. TG

I put a dawson on my 17L for a three gun pistol, but the mags won't drop free now. What did you do to fix that? Or did I read over that part above? TIA. TG
  12. Thanks for the links! For some reason, the replies didn't come up on my new posts. Sorry it took me so long to get back with you. TG
  13. Does anyone know what happened to the stagbuilder web site? I thought it was at www.gunracer.com , but I can't seem to find it anywhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated. TG
  14. I think that in the Benoverse you have one of the most glamorous jobs I can think of. Well thanks. Like I said, working in this industry is great. Being fairly new to this sport/work, I am continually impressed with what great people I meet every time I go somewhere new. I love it!!! TG
  15. Boy I'll tell you what...I sure feel like an uneducated slug! Started out as a structural steel ironworker two days before my 18th birthday moved from there to forman/super from there to crane operator back to super five years ago I got the best job I have ever had...Get to work with my old man building live fire shoot houses and rappel training towers (oh yea...targets too!) Not very "glam" but I can say I got to hang the largest single wide flange beams in the state (1300lbs/lf and 85 ft long) as well as all of the iron at the Snake River Stamped grounds indoor arena. TG
  16. Me neither!! I was just thinking about starting a post in "what I like" as finally being able to contribute something worth while enough to get THREE pages of response! I finally feel like I am a part of the group! TG
  17. We are going to have the 2nd annual MGM man on man 3 gun this new years day at the Parma Rod and Gun club. Basically the way it works, is you start off with your shotgun doing a plate rack and two slug swinger targets. Then you transfer to your rifle and engage five BCC Zone targets, and three stationary clays at various distances. Finally with your pistol, you do the plate rack and and the cross over stop plate from the last position. The entry fee is $10 and all of the money will be paid back to the top 33% of the shooters in each class. The shooters will be divided up into three groups, basically D and first timers, C and B shooters, and A, M, and GM. It will be the best two out of three runs per round, and it will be a double elimination series so everyone will get to shoot at least four strings. We all had a great time last year and I think the winners in each class took home between $20 and $40 (only had about 15 shooters so this wasn't too bad!) Let me know if you have any questions and hopefully we'll see you there! TG
  18. Don't even worry about it. Thanks for clearing that up. On a side note, I talked with RR and he is already getting things ready for the Glock match! Should be another good one. TG
  19. Thanks G! I finally got to shoot it at an IDPA match yesterday. I'm not sure it was legal, but I had fun with it! I am really looking forward to getting back into town and getting to do some practice with it too! TG
  20. Thanks for all of the help guys. I'll take a look at the threads and see what I can come up with. TG
  21. I just bought a new sight tracker, and I am having some issues with it. If anyone out there could let me know who to talk to about this, I would really appreciate it. Right now, the main issue I have is that the slide is locking back when there is still one round left in the mag. The mags are brand new SVI's that I got with the gun from SSI. Maybe this is something that might have been experienced with other guns and it is not just mine. I know that most of the open guns won't lock back even with the mag empty. I don't care if my gun does that, but what is the purpose of that? What does it do for you? Thank you in advance for any assistance you might be able to give. TG
  22. Ditto on this! I checked one of Angus' guns out too, and they are sweeet! TG
  23. I must have overlooked them. I'll go back and check it out. Thanks. TG
  24. Thanks. Part of the reason I bought that particular one is because I haven't seen one like it before. It is polished on both sides...I am just a bad photographer. TG Sweet. That is a sight tracker correct? Yea that is a Sight Tracker. I haven't had a chance to shoot it a bunch, but from what I can tell so far, it is going to be a real hoot to shoot! TG
  25. Thats what I'm talkn' bout! TG
