  1. Add another vote for www.ammoman.com. I had the sames results as Chriss.
  2. The only difference between the ITS trigger and the Tri-Glide is the Tri-Glide has a little ball in the back where it contacts the disconnector. The ITS is the interchangable trigger bow and the inserts. I think all the ITS triggers have the Tri-Glide ball now. In any event, it will work fine in your Edge. I have one in my Edge and my open gun as well.
  3. I just think it would be cool to get some funny looks at a match shooting with the flashlight on. IDPAers would think you were very tactical and hence, very cool. Then again you might get a FTDR. I guess I could mount a laser on it and shoot open class Open is a division, not a class.
  4. What height scope rings are recommended for an optical scope on an AR flattop? I'm putting my gun on a diet. I found out my Rock River scope mount weight about 11 oz. and I'm looking for something lighter. The RRA mount is 1 1/8" high but I don't know if that much height is necessary. Anybody have any recommendation for rings- preferably ones that aren't ridiculously expensive?
  5. Not for USPSA Limited or IPSC Standard. That would be interpreted as adding external weight for recoil control.
  6. I was just on the phone with Dave Skinner and I remembered to ask him the approval status of the Tactical for Limited. He said it has been approved for both USPSA Limited and IPSC Standard.
  7. If you are going tactical are you going widebody? The STI Tactical is a variation of the STI 2011 which is a double stack.
  8. Limted (Standard) NO box. NO restrictions on holster and mag pouch positions.
  9. Tony, I don't agree that's it's tough too make minor with a 16" barrel but it is a consideration that some ammo, especially in hot conditions, will not make minor which was the case with PMC ammo at the 3 Gun Nats a year or two ago. Most ammo will still make major in a 16" gun.
  10. - why would US shooters have to buy a new holster ? Can't they just slide it back a little ? It looks like I'm missing something... It depends on the holster and how an individual has it adjusted. Some models can be canted, tilted, and adjusted in so many ways, that a +/- 2" move can have a profound effect.
  11. Better idea... IPSC drops the "behind the hipbone" rule for Standard. I like it as is because with my Limcat holster, I can shoot Open and immediately change to Limited without changing or moving my rig. Item H illustrates why NOT to adapt a "behind the hipbone" rule.
  12. Perhaps I wasn't clear in my previous post. What I am saying is that I feel it is unethical for an accomplished Limited shooter to download his/her mags and shoot in a lower class, in L10 division, for the sole purpose of thumping up on a bunch of folks who are entry level, shooting on a budget, etc. Ron, Sorry, I understand now and with that I agree. What you're describing is another form of sandbagging. Limited 10 isn't terribly popular around MD, PA, VA. Most Limited shooters have stayed in Limited though there was a big pickup in L10 and Production just prior to the A8 Factory Gun Championship. I still don't agree with you that the gun is that much of a factor. Any decent A shooter should be able to whoop most B shooters most of the time (unless the B shooter is the sandbagger ) and I don't think the gun really makes that much of a difference, especially since many of the GM, M, and A shooters cut their teeth on a single stack and would still clobber an L10 shooter when they are shooting one classification down from their normal division.
  13. Is your local club dying because it's price tag is too exclusive to let any new life in? Actually, in the mid-Atlantic region (not necessarily section), clubs are turning away shooters for monthly matches because they are getting more shooters than they can accomodate. SASS is present in the region and while the matches are well-attended, they are sparce in frequency and geography.
  14. But here's the rub, very few will start playing the game by buying a $3,000 open blaster or a $1800 limited gun. The entry level has got to be open to the maximum number of potential shooters. It is. There are precious few C and D shooters in L10 with $3000 limited guns. Are there limited A shooters shooting B L10 with race guns, yes, but again, if that's a problem, it's with the classification system, not that L10 allows high caps. Even if it didn't, you'd still have A shooters whoopin' B shooters because of division crossover --- UNTIL they are properly classified in the new division.
  15. Downloading a wide body long dustcover, cone type pistol is indeed a form of equipment racing,... He/she has all kinds of advantages, but damn poor ethics... So now people who shoot wide body guns in L10 are cheaters? First, regardless of what illusions you have about what L10 is, it is not a single stack division and never was. If you don't like it, fine - lobby for a rules change and discussion on a forum like this is part of it, but for you to cast derision on people shooting wide body guns in L10 because YOU don't understand the division rules says more about your lack of eithics than theirs. Maybe you should try IDPA. People with your attitude seem to like it there. You can all get together and have a nice IPSC bash and call everybody with USPSA legal hardware cheaters and have a good old time with your single stacks. 16. I have seeing B/A class L10 class shooters thump on A/M class L10 shooters because they are A/M Limited shooters. This is absurd to me. Okay. I agree with that but that's an issue with the classification system and doesn't have anything to do with L10 being single stack only.
  17. Ditto Shooter Grrl's comments. L10 is fine as is. We can't have a division for every gun/mag/gear/shooter combo out there. The sport just isn't big enough to support it. For one, it would eliminate the Limited shooters who just download their hi-caps so they can go pick on the single stack shooters. That remark is just nonsense. If having a really good gun was the only criteria for winning matches, my finishes wouldn't suck so bad. (Edited by kbear38S at 10:12 am on Jan. 13, 2003)
  18. Pro-Grip works great. It's basically unscented antiperspirant - aluminum chlorhydrate I think. If your Pro-Grip dries up, you can recharge it. The solvent is rubbing alcohol which eventually evaporates. Just take the top off your Pro-Grip container and add rubbing alcohol. You'll may have to do it several times and you'll have to shake or twirl it to mix it. Keep adding until the lump is dissolved.
  19. What about those sprays that say the prevent comp fouling? Do they work or are they just a waste of money? Send me $3 for shipping and I'll send you a bottle that's 99.5% full.
  20. Question though, do you really think the optics are faster than a fiber optic bead? Close in, no. We've been shooting plates and paper as far out as 90 yards though, and the dot's a big help, especially with the plates. There was a big time difference between open and limited guns on the long stages, even with real good shooters.
  21. They only cost an extra $5 or something. The biggest advantage is they size further down the case but you also get a bit more neck tension on the bullets which can help in keeping tight OAL tolerances with .355 bullets. Steve, I have a 550 and a 1050, both with EGW undersize dies and factory crimp dies. The 1050 takes a lot more effort than the 550. Definitely use an undersize die. Get it from EGW (Edited by kbear38S at 5:25 am on Jan. 3, 2003)
  22. Why would it? The only people I can see shooting 9mm major would be those who get free brass in the first place like LEO often do. I have yet to see any suggestion of benefit with 9x19 major except cheap brass.
  23. One 10 point miss penalty. You also don't get any hit points which means not taking the second shot cost you 15 points.
  24. Had one. Doubled on me once too often. While great fun, not worth the potential expense of having to pay a lawyer to persuade the ATF that it's a defective trigger and not a full auto.
