Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Sorry guys just me, but when you pay in excess of 2K for a gun, it had better run! I have a SV with 6K rounds thru it and still not right. Also have an STI that has problems...... These are the premier Mfgs. of the products that we compete with. After talking with customer "NO" support I'll never deal directly with them again. I just received my latest blaster from Brazos, and it is WONDERFUL!!! Bob has been great to deal with. and yes. it has run since round #1!
  2. TIS, if I ran a few miles before the match, I'd be relaxing on a strecher... I'm with Ron on this one, the Cafe' Au Lait and beignets, on the way to the match, on the way to work, on the way home from work, weekend mornings, ect.... have got to stop!
  3. WOW! I thought that I had started on this path to shooting. and find out that I haven't left the blocks! Thanks for all the info and threads. Hope this question is not too far off, is what you "need to see" different in practice vs a match, or shooting a 18 x 24 rectangle at 7yds. vs the A zone at 7 yds.? To shoot the plate, when I see white - the shot breaks, to shoot the A zone - is there more focus? When shooting a match it seems now as if I'm just shooting brown for speed vs a particular spot.
  4. First, Thanks! Second, I can fix that. Third, Thanks again, maybe I'm getting too hung up on this. At my current level of seeing, I'll shoot stages in the 90-95% range of points. Pushing my splits down below .2 though, and I start dropping in to the 80% range. On high round count stages, it seem as though there is a lot of time that could be made up in the splits?
  5. What would be the optimum times for splits on targets out 7 - 10 yds.? Being a low "B" open shooter, I can't seem to get past the .22-.24 area, and be able to call my shots for a 2 A zone hits. Trying to pick up on the speed that a lot of the forum members are shooting at, it seems that I'm way behind. Is this a hump that I need to overcome to move on, or am I looking at this the wrong way? How do you overcome this if it's a problem...?
  6. Being from the same area as JRBean, my thoughts tend to run along the same lines. Shooting the LA match squaded with MM jr. and BM, they shoots fast, and accurately! When shooters reach that level, no matter what class they shoot in, times will be about the same, but points are what win. (B class IMHO) Most stages are not stand in one box and blast away 28 rounds. There always seems to be an area to make a reload while moving. Magazine round restriction beyond the current levels is not the answer, it's the "COURSE DESIGN STUPID" (no offense). When you have to choose to go for the tight long shots on steel, and just have enough rounds, or to make that reload. Thats where calling your shots, accuracy, consistancy, ect. make the difference. But it is acheived thru the Course design under the rules we currently have.
  7. Is anyone using the "U" sizing dies for 38 Super? Are they worth the cost or just a precieved problem that doesn't need fixing?
  8. Thanks for the info. and the thread to TT thoughts. Will order a couple of thousand pieces of TJ Brass, 223 shell plate, and wait on my new gun to show up....This is better than Christmas!
  9. Is anyone shooting TJ Brass on a regular basis? I have a new blaster coming and looking at 38TJ setup. How does the brass look after several reloads..... Thanks
