  1. caspian guy - I may have misdescribed my grip. My thumbs are sitting on top of each other facing forward with the second knuckle of my strong hand thumb sitting approximately above the first knuckle of my support hand thumb.

BritinUSA - I have the regular grips that came with the CZ.

digby7 - Thanks so much! I think that's right - I need to have a much greater maximum grip strength so that I can use a relatively relaxed grip and still handle the gun.

Aglifter - My shoulders aren't doing anything special; they're helping to hold the gun out but are otherwise pretty relaxed.

Jon - Thanks! And could you please spot my recoil management next time?

    Gotcha that makes more sense.

  2. I suspect that grip tape might help (as has been suggested above).

One thing you might play with a bit in practice is to press your hands together as you are gripping. To feel what I am talking, about assume your stance with your body and arms. Instead of overlapping your hands as if holding the gun, place your palms flat together and then press them together slightly. You should feel a bit of tension on the outside of your arms and across the muscles in your chest. You don't need to press together crazy hard just enough to feel a bit of tension. This was suggested to me by an instructor I know as means to get a bit of extra clamping force (and is something I am playing with currently). You are fortunate enough to have some good help localy as there is really no subatitute for actually observing what is happening.

  3. I'd be curious to see what your grip looks like. Not sure I understand what you mean when you say your wrists meet? Where are your thumbs in relation to one another when you grip the gun. Does the heel of your weak hand touch the weak side grip of the gun? Could be weak hand grip strength I suppose...

  4. I have both the current gen and previous gen Meopta scopes and have been happy with both of them.

Not sure which version of the Trijicon you are looking at? If the one with the triangle on a post I could never get used to trying to hold over with it (I always seemed to lose the target behind the post.) Others though have used them with good success.

  5. I always liked the idea of modified so maybe there should be a place for limited optic (or something) for guns .40 or better with a dot on the slide in a rear sight mount or buried in the slide (no frame mounts). Ported barrel or not...maybe it needs to fit in a box?

I have seen several folks in the last year show up at my matches with guns with dots on the slide (M&Ps or Glocks) so this must be becoming more mainstream.
