Alloy frame p14. I shot it till some of the holes in the frame started getting oblong shaped. Still that took probably 15 to 20k rounds of old major power factor ammo so it gave me good service and carried me to B. Still have it buried in the back of the safe somewhere.

If you are going meopta, the 1x is good enough and the dot is bright enough that I am not sure you'd need a secondary dot. If you don't end up needing a secondary dot you'll have saved the weight and expense. If you decide you want one you can always add it later.

If you make a gantt chart I may refuse to buy one ;-) that would be way too much like work.Any new info on the POGO Dot?
Looking to review samples of the lens coating this week from a supplier, and get them on order. Lead-time is about 4 weeks.
In the mean time I'm working through the design of the fixturing to machine the parts. Right now my plan is to build the first 50-100 units on the brand new machine we are installing at my day job. I'll plan to come in for some long weekends to get things kick started. But I'll still need to build and validate the V2 design before ramping into production. That will take around 4 weeks, and starts after I get the custom lens. I could create a Microsoft Project Gantt chart of the schedule, but that would feel too much like my day job.

Yep I have a build planned that one of these would be great on

Man I hate that... occasional broken parts is the cost of racing, but there is never a good time for that to happen.
For probably less than a grand I bet you can get that gun back in action. Unless you want to try something different I say patch her up and get back in the race.

Springfield usually puts a really heavy mainspring in those guns. A lighter one will usually shave a bit off the the trigger pull. I don't remember if the key lock system they use on the mainspring housing (do they still use that) is compatible with a standard mainspring? Though I seem to remember that it was.

The mag that came with mine says "mg p18 .38s" on it... the feed lips look like they have been shortened slightly when compared to a 9mm made in Canada Para mag, but that might be due to the .22tcm. The 9mm para mag locks in place in the gun... don't know if the Para mag functions as I haven't shot the gun with the 9mm barrel in it.
-
Mine which is the combo .22tcm/9mm gun came with an aftermarket para p18 mag (mecgar I think)... looked like the feed lips had been modified a bit, but that was likely to make the .22tcm work.
If I remember when I get home, I'll pull the gun out and check the mag.

Didn't the original version of the hunter have what amounted to a barrel weight with a front sight on it attached to an extended barrel?

So what is the recommendation as to how to machine down the die? Chuck it up in a lathe and face off the bottom of the die, or grind it off,or ....

Proof that good things do happen to good people.
Congrats Sam, y'all are going to make great patents.

Aggh... forgot about the taper...

Depends on what is causing them to fail. If it is the base not being sized enough a casepro a U die or a push through sizer of some kind would help.

No experience with it, but the design concerns me a bit. In the 1050 there is a rod that protrudes from above that pushes down on the case from above to provide support. It looks like in this system the only thing resisting the force of the swager is the case rim and the case plate. Seems that might cause extra stress on the press from the upward force required to swage the primer pocket. Could possibly the case rim to be damaged (or maybe not). I'd be curious to see one. However if I were Dillon and you damaged your press using it I am not sure how that might go from a warranty perspective.

Seems someone beat me to it. I think the thread cited above covers it nicely.

The Rocky Mountain 300 has always been run as a Level I. The new wording would seem to imply we could apply for Level II as long as we strictly complied with the 8-rounds-per-position rule.
I don't read it that they removed the ability to have long courses with more than 32 rounds in Level 1 and 2 matches (not sure what the Colorado 300 is rated as but I assume Level 2). There is a period after the round count sentence so the added "At any level match" applies to the 8 round part, not the max rounds.... Wish they hadn't removed the round count exemption for level I matches (though I understand it). Maybe they could put a process to get a waiver in for special matches (Colorado 300 comes to mind) so they could still be shot under the USPSA banner.
Yep... I went back and looked at it. I think you are right.

Good point... I missed the position of the period.

Thanks to Troy for the heads up. With a quick read looks like they cleaned some stuff up that has needed it. I guess I'll head over there and ask about a couple of things.
Still seems they have a problem with the gauge use for mag length measuring (unless I misunderstand what they are telling me). There is an implicit assumption built into the gauge that mag tubes are actually flat and square on their back surfaces. In my experience most mag tubes aren't (though it was good to see the wording to address basepads that don't fit the cutout in the gauge). Also curious if the language about maximum mag capacity, in states with limits, applies to states that grandfather pre-ban full capacity mags. Wish they hadn't removed the round count exemption for level I matches (though I understand it). Maybe they could put a process to get a waiver in for special matches (Colorado 300 comes to mind) so they could still be shot under the USPSA banner.

Let a competent gunsmit make the frame fitted for SV or STI magazines
That's the way to do it.......................
While certainly possible this is not necessary ( the only smith I know who does that is limcat, and I believe he only does it on new gun builds). The caspian system was designed to feed 38 super/9mm, the mags (at least the original ones I have) are so marked. For the new style mags Bamboo's advice is good.
