  1. Can you install the top (shorter) set screw on a CGW flat da/sa trigger without the reach reduction kit? Attempted to do this in my shadow 2 compact last night and regardless of how much I back out/screw in the top screw it will not reset the trigger… I remember I had this same issue in my full size but it was long enough ago I can’t remember how I resolved it.
  2. Thanks, feeling really good lately! Shooting Weld tomorrow we’ll see how it goes, unfortunately there’s no classifier. Did some flat range work yesterday and started to push speed on 25 yard open targets. If I want consistent alphas a 1.3 draw and .3-.4 splits is about as fast as I can go before I get too sloppy. Continued to work on draw speed also, this time on an open 7 yard target. Consistently under .9 now as well although I’m not there “cold” mostly because of site index’ing. I’m giving myself a little slack though as Last week I switched from an SRO to a 507 Comp. Bill drills consistently under 1.8 and feeling good. I need to stay on the gas and get it done! It sounds like a couple matches next weekend got cancelled so now I’m only shooting a local level 1 tomorrow and another classifier match next friday. Planning on a good training session before hand. Weather is getting cold and outdoor matches are going to start fading out. Need to stay on the gas though
  3. I shoot .355’s from my shadow 2
  4. Because everyone is ditching them for 507 Comps?
  5. I hear that. I went back to my Shadow 2 from the DWX and couldn’t be happier
  6. Still don't believe they exist (Haven't seen any anywhere). Just got a Shadow 2 Compact though...
  7. Under “make ready” it doesn't really matter to me, at that point im ready to go. If its a speed shoot I’ll practice draw along with a reload to load the gun but that’s really only for classifier. Before all that though I need to be able close my eyes and visualize every target and my stage program, so I can execute without hesitation.
  8. Little update, I was 1/4" away (No Shoot) from making M this weekend. I added a couple more M times shooting 09-13 and 13-05 as well as 19-02. I should be just a hair under 83% right now. Shooting another match Sunday and then two more the following weekend and hopefully I'll get there. Two steps forward one step back.... While I've been focusing on efficient aggressive movement most recently I noticed my draw speed has suffered pretty significantly. Before this match I spent a lot of time in dry fire on draw and dot presentation and getting my support hand to my gun early. Most of my first shots were right around the 1 second mark this weekend which is a big improvement to where it had been. I also fumbled a couple reloads in the match trying to go too fast. Last night in dry fire I was consistently able to hit a .8 draw on a par time #1 followed by a 1.2 second reload back to dot presentation for par time #2. This felt pretty smooth and probably fast enough. Live fire practice on this friday before the match Sunday to work on more transitions and some weak handed shooting which I realized I haven't done in a long time (after shooting 22-02 Lefty Loosey). After shooting our state match and then an all classifier I'm excited to get back to the local level 1 match.
  9. Good to know. I'm going to go ahead and do the entire cajun package minus the extended firing pin. I'll post up thoughts afterwards. I'm going to try and put 1000 rounds through it first.
  10. Who makes a 14? What is stock? I’m using CCI’s and Fiocchi’s so I will test. With the extended firing pin I’ve had zero issues with the 11.5#
  11. I might be answering my own question here- I have a pair of Shadow 2’s with the full CGW treatment. They have around 20k through them combined and other than a couple extraction issues quickly fixed with a cleaning they have been extremely reliable. The S2C is primarily going to be a carry gun so reliability matters. Right now I have a 13lb hammer spring/reduced firing pin spring, but I’m debating doing the full cajun gun works package minus the extended firing pin or just a flat trigger and short reset disconnect. Thoughts? From what I can tell the extended firing pin is the only thing they don’t recommend for a carry gun. If I don’t go lighter than the 13# main spring reliability should be fine correct?
  12. Probably just my inexperience with “small” guns. I havent shot a compact sized gun in at least 8 months. I understand this is bigger than a glock 43 or a hellcat but I was surprised at how closely it shoots like a full size shadow 2. If you have smaller hands and wanted to compete with the gun you daily carry this very easily fills that roll. Maybe that was obvious to everyone.
  13. https://www.ebay.com/itm/175896940951 do some slo mo video of your muzzle while shooting doubles. Everyone grips the gun differently but a 9lb recoil spring and a lighter guide rod and my gun stays almost perfectly flat.
  14. Yes I know a guy locally doing that as well. I think the nose heaviness i feel in the shadow 2 would go away with a compact slide as well as the swing weight feeling way lighter. Maybe I’m wrong. I really don’t want to chop up a shadow 2 frame to find out
  15. Picked my compact up today and put 100 rounds through it. Wow. First thing I noticed was how ridiculously light the frame is. I assumed I would want to try brass grips. I figured it was going to be snappy but it shoots ALMOST as flat as my shadow 2. Splits incredibly quick for how small it is. I’m very impressed with this little gun! 2-3” group at 15 yards. With how well this shoots who is going to be the first person to mill a full size frame flush with a compact slide? As far as I can tell it will work. I also put a large safety on it and it works fine. I plan on doing a CGW flat trigger and a short reset disco and that’s probably it.
  16. It lightened my trigger pull from 4.5lb to 2lb 4oz. It's tunable so there was basically zero pre travel, and super short reset, and only enough over travel to remain reliable. The stock trigger was very heavy in comparison. I can't think of what else I would want out of the trigger. I've shot a handful of Atlas', Staccato's, etc.
  17. The EGW ignition kit for $130 brought my trigger to just over 2lb. You can youtube the install. I paid a buddy $100 to do it locally but it doesnt look difficult
  18. The S2 is so nose heavy as it is I couldn’t imagine adding more. I ended up swapping to a titanium that was half the weight of stock that i found from a seller on ebay. It made a noticeable difference in doubles and felt swing weight.
  19. I have a Trex sidecar coming for the S2C. I’m pretty confident it will fit, if not they said they’ll pay for return shipping. Pretty cool.
  20. I feel like I hit a turning point recently in my shooting. I was able to shoot top Carry Optics A class in a sectional qualifier and two other local matches. I shot my first level 2 match and got 13th in Carry Optics with 4 very stupid Mikes. My aggressiveness in movement has improved significantly though while being able to simulatenously be patient with shooting. Accuracy has improved significantly while not really losing any speed. That was something I read recently from Tim Herron and didn't really believe would happen. Shooting an all classifier match this weekend and I'm hoping they aren't all the super old speed shoots...
  21. Im not sure, I know it works with henning base pads and 24+1
  22. I've handled both the S2C and DWX compact. To me the S2C felt much better in the hand. I should have mine early next week and I have an SRO for it already. If anyone has info on whether a S2C will fit in a T.rex sidecar or T1C axis holster post up please.
  23. No grinding of baseplates with the floyds customs magwell.
