  1. Shot a 100% on 23-01 today which should put me at the top of the top 20 list… 94.87% average or so. If my math is right I need a 93.1% or better. Next match is Tuesday.
  2. Another update: Shot a 94.47% on 09-09 last week. Screwed up the SHO of all strings. I’m shooting 23-01 tomorrow. Will report back. Inching closer and closer…
  3. I agree it shouldn’t be a thing. I could see wording regarding clearly defining the shooting area but not having to dictate that you shoot from it, that should be common sense. It’s such commonplace to have it in the stage procedure of the WSB though it’s kind of a non-issue.
  4. I thought you were gonna put a sign on it saying “bend your knees” at one point.
  5. “there will be two paper targets and two steel targets only visible from the bridge”. If you shoot it from in front of the bridge you’re way outside of the shooting area I’m not a fan of dictating who shoots what targets from where… it’s freestyle.
  6. Stage went very well thank you guys for input. This was generally the stage with some added barrels to hide the back corner targets.
  7. Update on their end- there's a firmware upgrade happening soon and they plan on adding this to the list of fixes!
  8. Has anyone ran into issues using Protimer BT's while shooting par time stages? We shot CM09-09 this week and had one squad that had multiple issues with the timer picking up the last shot. The shots occurred ON the 5 second beep. I reached out to Competition Electronics customer service and they were SUPER receptive. They have emailed me back twice this morning alone already. They stated their firmware is currently set to have a 0.2 second "Dead" time where shots will not pick up if they occur during the beep. They're looking into updating the firmware to change this. When this happened the shot timer would only show the previous shot recorded so even though a shot occurred ON the beep at 5 seconds the timer would show 4.2, 4.4, etc. My thoughts on this- If the dead time is 0.2 seconds which is according to Competition Electronics it shouldn't really matter? I personally saw someone go over 5.3 and a 5.36 registered so I tend to believe their customer service. In terms of scoring the classifier USPSA allows for a 0.3 overlap so it should still be possible to determine if a shooter went over or not and it really becomes an education issue for RO's? This particular squad had a handful of shooters reshoot the classifier because of this perceived issue. If this is the case it will be addressed in the next shooters meeting. I'm surprised this hasn't come up before?
  9. Thank you I guess you are right! It was weird cause our squad only had a few people in red. I guess our check-in process on the tablets got abandoned part way through... .
  10. https://practiscore.com/results/new/6221b3a3-8a1f-4cba-af03-affd4443c515 I don't understand what you mean by "confirming is not the same as changing". There were no changes done to PF registrations if that's what you're getting at. Everyone registered correctly- IE Carry Optics- Minor, Open-Major, etc. The colored names (red) only showed up in the tablets on the "Enter Scores" screen.
  11. PF was definitely confirmed for all shooters at check-in. I did do color check in and it’s probably that but we had zero no-shows so everyone was checked in. Doesn’t make sense it was only a handful of shooters showing red. Without looking at a tablet it was one CO divison and one LO for sure, both correctly assigned minor PF.
  12. Screwing them in for sure, the bending of stakes usually happens on removal. Either rocking wall feet or target stands to get them pulled up.
  13. We have a bunch of bent ground stakes and a lot of people asking for a hammer drill to help set stages. Instead of investing in a couple hammer drills and continually replacing bent ground stakes has anyone used large lag bolt screws? Our ground composition is a mix of sandy clay and I think it would hold well. The only problem I've found is they are EXPENSIVE. Has anyone sourced a discount in bulk? We need 300-400. If they're durable enough it might be worth the investment.
  14. We plan on building walls this fall using 1" tube steel. Not sure of the gauge but they're heavy enough to withstand the wind while still not being too heavy to carry. 8' width and a half a dozen 4'ers. Vertical braces spaced enough distance apart that you can make any wall a port. The feet will be slightly larger square stock that the feet can fit into, and there will be 3 wall "attachments" per wall foot. Another club down here has something very similar. They are amazingly wind resistant (40-50mph gusts last weekend, enough to rip cardboard targets off sticks) and the walls didn't flinch). They also stack tightly enough we can store 30-40 inside a conex box.
  15. At our match yesterday we noticed some shooters were showing up red in practiscore and none of us could figure out why. Scores were entered correctly and it seemed random across a variety of stage types- Fixed time classifier, Comstock, etc. The results upload also worked fine. Any ideas?
  16. Depending on whether or not they are stitching it or removing a piece will dictate your recovery. I had a piece cut out and was back to normal in 3 weeks.
  17. 1.1.5 "...Courses of fire must not require mandatory reloads nor dictate a shooting position, location or stance..." My club has an unbalanced shooting bridge that has fault lines on it effectively making it a shooting box. I'm designing a 24 round long course using this bridge to "connect" two large shooting areas. There will be two paper targets and two steel targets only visible from this bridge. In an effort to prevent gaming the bridge by planting one foot on stable ground it will be spread out enough that it is it's own shooting area. Is this considered "dictating a shooting area?"
  18. I got my first GM classifier tonight. I shot 100% on 13-05 Tick-tock. 6.85 seconds with 3 Charlie’s for a 10.85HF. Two more of those and I’m there. I believe this will bump my average to 91.5%. If it would only stop raining on weekends here I would really appreciate it… 78F sunny tomorrow and then low 60’s and rain all weekend AGAIN. It’s been like that all of 2024. If Sundays match doesn’t happen (and if it does, they have not shot a classifier since last summer), then the next match I’m shooting isn’t until 5/11
  19. New goal- GM by July. We'll see how it goes. I haven't focused on classifiers in a good bit. Going back to basics in dry fire and trying to do "good" again. My current average is 89%.
  20. I don't notice it shooting a shadow 2. I spent a lot of time on the DA shot when I first started shooting and now it doesn't matter. 3 yards or 25 the trigger pull is the same. If it's a bad shot I'm calling it that way and making it up.
  21. Yes I turn 40 this year and try to workout at least 5 days a week. I was doing 2 a days for about a year but since then my time management has suffered after having 2 kids. I need to lock it in and get back on track myself. I frequently shoot with a guy nearly half my age who constantly complains about “being exhausted” and having trouble focusing towards the end of a match. That’s super alarming to me and I generally blame it on poor lifestyle choices. I try and harp on him as much as I think he can tolerate or he’s going to be in bad shape by the time he gets to my age. If you can shoot once or twice a week you should be able to workout 3-4 times a week at home for 30 minutes pretty easily.
  22. For those posting about being tired after a match I’d love to hear what your physical fitness routine is. How many times a week do you workout, for how long, and what do you do for workouts?
  23. There’s no way that’s the norm around here! Maybe 200 yards max per stage. Standing around shouldn’t make you tired either. There’s an epidemic in this country and it isn’t/wasn’t covid. I wish more people invested as much time into their gun setup as they do their personal health.
