  1. Add me to the Heinie rear, Dawson FO front fan club.
  2. As the last poster said. the easiest thing to do is get a 3.5 connector. I prefer lone wolf connectors. There is only so much you can do with just polishing. And yes, you can over polish. I got a little too aggresive when I was first learning how to work on Glocks and i overdid it a bit on a few parts and I think I removed some metal. The trigger pull got really heavy and gritty feeling.
  3. For those of you that have them, how was the factory trigger? How heavy? I can't decide between the Springer or Trojan. Thanks,
  4. I know this topic has been discussed before but I'm looking for some clarification. What would be required to have a 1911 or 2011 that can switch back and forth between 9mm and .40 besides mags? A complete top end, just a barrel swap or what? Also how much work would need to be done? Could I buy an extra caliber conversion somewhere or would it have to be fit by a gunsmith and at what cost. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  5. Great Stuff!!! Tried all the rest and Tru grip is the best by far.
  6. so much for my advice. you are already running a lighter recoil spring. Honestly though. I am so used to factory remington 115 grain that after trying light 147 grain light handloads I went back to the factory 115s. I guess I just didn't want to have to try to get used to something different.
  7. I have experienced the same thing. You did not specify what type of gun you are using but usually the slide will cycle slower with the light loads making the gun come back on target slower. Try a lighter recoil spring.
  8. I have been considering the exact same thing. Now I am curious as well about having Benny build me one. I wonder how much it will cost.
  9. I've wondered the same thing. I shoot mainly production with my Glock but I seem to be much faster with the model 17 than I am with the 34. The 34 is a little more accurate on longer shots but overall my scores are better with the 17 due to the fasters times. After reading this I need to find someone with a 6 inch gun to try.

    Glock upper

As singlestack said, I haven't seen any place thet sells them anymore. They pop up once in a while on gun boards like this one but people usually want a lot for them. You can usually find an entire used gun a lot easier and for only a little more than you would pay for just the slide.
  11. OK, I guess I didn't win. Thanks though.
  12. Glock was running a promotion where they were giving away 6 G21SF pistols to people who used Glocks at the nationals. The form I filled out and sent said the winners would be posted at teamglock.com after Nov. 1st. Its now the 13th and nothing on the site. Anybody hear anything? I forgot about it until today and was curious.
  13. Not sure about the Caspian slide but here is what the CCF website says about the frame. Stainless Steel frames are eligible for Enhanced Service Pistol category only in the extended slide configuration, ie G34 & G35 and then only if the frame has had weight removed to bring the complete pistol’s wgt, including empty magazine, to 43.0 ounces or less. Approx .5 ( or 1/2) oz will have to be removed from the frame.
  14. Uh, how about Open? Sure, with my single stack 1911 and iron sights?
  15. Yeah, it kind of sucks. There really is no place for a single action 9mm in USPSA. Unless you want to shoot minor in limited and then you are handicapped.

    G34..........

I have both and the difference in recoil is very little. I actually prefer the 17. I never was comfortable with the 34. The 17 seems to balance better for me and I seem to get on target quicker.
  17. I had a dificult time transitioning between Glocks and 1911s. I know the triggers are radically different but I attributed it more to the difference in grip angles. It was more of an issue with getting the sights aligned. I became a much better shooter when I picked a platform and stuck with it. It my case Glocks since I had a couple in different calibers and sizes.
  18. Haven't tried it myself but a couple guys at the local club use .45 magazines in theirs .40s and they work fine. Anyone else do this?
  19. Thanks for the replies and the links to the reduced targets. And Busyhawk, yeah I am pretty good at strong hand and weakhand shooting.
  20. I had the same exact problem. Bought new mags that I had to put away and can't use until I replace all the followers.
  21. I have to use both since half the matches I attend are in backwards states with laws that require 10 round mags. I don't notice a difference when seating the mags. Mine are well broken in though. I do have to say though that the few times I have had any trouble with mags they were with 10 rounders. I had to replace a couple of springs.
  22. $850 is an absolute steal. Grab it or tell me where it is!!
  23. Unfortunately in the suburbs where I live the only place for me to practice is at the indoor range. Outdoor ranges are pretty far from me. I actually have to travel at least one to two hours for every match. My practice is limited to dry fire and indoor ranges where I can't draw from a holster and can only use 1 lane. Any suggestions for drills I can do in my limited surroundings? Thanks, Dave
