Gun Geek
I'm new to the Glock scene. I've been shooting and handloading for 1911's and rifles for a long time. Thought I'd check into all the fuss about the tupperware. My question is about selection of bullets for handloading. Glock seems to be pretty adamant about not using lead (not jacketed). I like the plateds (Westcoast, Rainier). What do you guys think? Geek
A33435
I think i have shot some 100K 9 and .40 through my glocks. All of them copper plated and never had any problems. Just recently switched to FMJ (190 grain PRVI) but that was for economical reasons. Be precise and carefull while reloading and have great fun with your glock. TRG65
For the same money as you can by Rainier, you can get Zero's. Having shot all three makes I like the 147 Zero JHP the best for the 9mm. I don't shoot 40 so I won't comment there. For good prices on Zeros look at Roze distribution, or www.ghostholster.com, this is forum members site and has the best prices I've seen on Zero's
Flexmoney
Lead is a nogo in the Glock barrels (too smokey anyway). Plated can seperate and tumble when pushed fast. Zero and Montana Gold sell jacketed bullets at plated prices.
howardw
I've shot about 10k of Berry's this year, and haven't had any problems. It's about the best regular deal I've found for 9mm 147's. I shoot them through a G34. I shoot IDPA, and find them fine for what I do. Howard
EricW
Whatever's jacketed and cheap. It all works. There's no magic.
MoNsTeR
Berry's are where it's at for price/performance. If I had more money to spend I'd buy Zero or MG.
Garfield
"yeah what he (EricW) said" Don't use lead, that's all. I have put many sorts of ammo through my G17 and my G17 handled it all very well.
PacMan
I used West Coast plated 180 gr and Berry's plated 180 gr. Had about 6,000 through my G35 and no build up that I can see. The G35 gets regularly cleaning every 300 rds., however.
Custom Glock Racing
I have used many brands and types but I prefer Zeros.
mike4045
I go with Zero or Montana Gold. I never had any luck with plated. Mike
