Hotel options at the Nationals(gun friendly)

Does anyone have real knowledge about carry laws in Las Vegas?

I remember seeing some signs in the casinos that posted no CHL. Since we are going to be carrying bags of guns and bullets in and out on a daily basis, a gun friendly hotel would be a good place to start. Less we scare the natives.

I assume the Orleans is gun friendly since that's where Kim negotiated the group rate for USPSA. It's a great deal ($43 on the weekdays, which is really about $60 after mandatory fees and taxes).

I have not been able to find any NV law against CHL (If you find one, please add it to this thread), and NV is now very generous with reciprocity. The signs at the Stratosphere cite a law under which persons possessing or carrying guns will allegedly be prosecuted, but it's just a general trespass statute, not something specifically dealing with guns.

that's easy-check out the silverton hotel-on the end and off the strip. bass pro shop connected to it. stayed there for the 3 gun nats a few years ago. walked into the hotel/casino with long gun cases and carts, etc, and no one cared.

I'm quite certain the natives won't be restless. A lot of places don't want CHL's in there as there is a little bit of alcohol in Vegas. That said, I'd say the match hotel would be the ideal place to stay. The Orleans is nice, the price is great and you're not far from the main part of the strip.

+1 and you're pretty much on the road towards the range; Blue Diamond Road leads to Charleston Boulevard. Short on ammo...no problem, just walk down to Bass Pro.

ShootingChef, your best best is to contact the hotel you are looking into and ask to speak with the head of security if possible. Circus Circus told me that pretty much as long as they don't see the gun itself they don't care and that was the head of hotel security that told me that.

Vegas is pretty mellow with gun stuff- just be discrete about it. A lot of it depends on the person that you are dealing with at that moment. I was talking with someone today that got some grief walking into the Silverton with a rifle case and was asked to leave it in the car. Official hotel policy is that cased firearms are authorized (they are an official FrontSight hotel), but that employee didn't know the policy. +1 on contacting a Security Director before traveling to get clarification on how to transport cased firearms when entering and exiting the property for the match. If you can get that in an email format, print it out and bring it with you. I am trying to get an official announcement from the Orleans that will be included in the welcome letter for the Nationals in September.

to clarify my issue. I have been to some casino's that post a no weapons sign. I have been to hotel/casinos, that you cannot get to your room without going through part of the casino, example would be the Hard Rock in Vegas. My fear is that I am wearing my team shirt, 5.11 shorts, carrying a CED bag with my pistol, going to my room after the match, did I just break the law?

If by "no weapons sign" sign you mean a pistol in a circle with a line thru it, that is a "no concealed carry allowed" sign. You description of walking into the hotel with you gear and unloaded gun in a range bag is NOT concealed carry.
