Arredondo Docter mount

I am looking for a new optic for my open shotgun. Does anyone have any experience with this Arredondo mount?

You don't need one. A fiber optic front is all you need.

rich is right, until u deal with slugs out to a distance. i have ralph's mount with a doctor and it's nice. drawback is it's a bit higher than the JP, but it ain't going anywhere either. get a cheek pad and go with it.

Meld it into the receiver. Mounting a dot waaaaay out on the barrel never made any sense to me...like Rich said, just use a FO if you are gonna do that.

Closer to your eye means bigger window to look thru.

Anyone ever tried the Burris SpeedBead sight? It uses the FastFire with a mount that goes between the stock and receiver. Looks like it would work pretty well. Not sure if you can get the mount by itself, but if you could, you could then use a Doctor as well since they use the same mounting base. Might be slightly close to the eye, but seems like it would work well without getting into machining the receiver at all.

I have the Burris mount and dot SpeedBead on my open Benelli and really like it. Am I in love...not yet...still have to do more testing. First impression was wow! You can find the dot faster than irons but having the dot that close to the eye takes a little getting use to. I believe the Burris Fast Fire is a great system and can't wait to shoot the SG more.

Got another 7 inches of snow today...OH boy!

Jerry Miculek was using the Burris Speed Dot at Ft. Benning this year if I saw his gear correctly. He appeared to shoot it very well!
