2 Ricky Lopez

3 Cliff "Whipping boy" Walsh

5 Mike Carmoney

I'll stick with the top 5, it gets too close to guess after that !!!!

And, YES I know I did not mention Danbagger and Bucket Bagakiss !!!!!! ;)

Cliff is a card-carrying Grand Master of the revolver, so it's going to be really hard for me to keep up. We think the only reason I managed to stomp him so many times in the past few years is that he had a bad barrel on his 625PC.

I'll put some bet's on our Minnesota shooter Keith Ulfers for the top five. :sight:

 Thanks Matt. I owe you a beer.

I think Keith will come in top 3 and win 9 or 10 stages.

How many beers do I get???

Sure! I'll take the beer however, I was also very serious about the "prediction"!

I don't shoot much USPSA wheelie as I stick to Production. I love ICORE though.

But, I'm going out on a limb and saying Jerry. :roflol:

Better watch out for Elliot Aysen, as well. Although Hop did a pretty good job at the MS Classic.

And, a side-bar...

Watch out for Rodney May in Production.

Now that another USPSA Revolver Nationals is in the books, I'll offer my comments on "Handicapper Hopalong's" pre-match picks:

1 Jerry Miculek: This one was an absolute lock--Jerry continues to dominate the division. He's a winner.

2 Ricky Lopez: Another very solid bet--box Ricky and Jerry in a quinella and you'll win a little money--I say a little money because not many people are going to bet against those two to win and place, anywhere in the world. (Unless Nils returns to the track....then you'd have a real horse race, boys!)

3 Cliff "Whipping boy" Walsh: Gotta give you props, Hop, it takes real guts to bet on a nag that stumbles up to the starting blocks like this overweight mangy mess. ;) He didn't take third, but he managed to finish a respectable fourth.

4 Allison Vericio: A proven champion, but this was his first time running on U.S. soil. A very good bet, Hop, but a couple slips here and there kept this horse slightly further back in the running than any of us expected.

5 Mike Carmoney: This stud horse started out a little too slow, but rocketed ahead in the stretch to finish in the money with a strong third place showing. This is not one you want to ever bet against.

The dark horse in this race turned out to be Matt Griffin, who hangs around here on this forum sometimes, finishing at an excellent number five! Looks like this is definitely one to watch at future races.....

I didn't even get to use the gun I bought from you, Mike. I couldn't get an FO sight on it quickly enough, and I think I need to put a stronger rebound spring in it. Hopefully next year I'll have a properly tuned revolver to take you folks on with, the one I was using had to be 2 lbs. heavier than yours. But the primers all went bang.

I have to admit, I was wondering if Jerry would pull it off after Ricky started posting great scores, but he obviously felt the dogs at his heels on the last day and turned it up. But 13% doesn't lie, does it? Frankly, I'm glad the dragon is still out there, maybe next year we can make him sweat.

It was a lot of fun, and I think I've convinced at least two people on my squad (both lefties) to try revolver for a while. Also, big thanks to Frank Cruz, the other roundgunner in my squad, for talking through the stages with me. Invaluable help.

H. (Matt Griffin)

Allison,

NEVER apologize !!!!! You did what you did. That's it and now you can go whip on the PRODUCTION division. ;)

Matt, Congrats to you, Matt Beck and Frank Cruz.

You 3 made quite an impression on many folks.

I made the mistake of wasting time and $$$. It was fun don't get me wrong but deciding to shoot the day before the Nationals is NOT the thing to do when you have shot a completely different platform for the last few months.

Good to see all, Great to meet new and smiling faces.

Like Sam said, it was fun but my head was somewhere else for the entire match. I was seriously thinking about not shooting at all as the day before I left for the match my family buried one of my favorite people in the world. My grandfather. But in the end, after some encouragement from my family, I decided to make the trip.

Even though my shooting was below par it was worth it to see the friends I only see a couple times a year. (Cliff, too)

I was sorry to hear about the passing of your grandfather, Keith. My son is named after my own late grandpa, the original Sam Carmoney. We're all glad you made the trip, it wouldn't be the same without you on the squad.
