Results from Steel Match 3/8/09.

I just could not get 4 solid runs put together.

I did learn that I need to be on the front sight! When I wasn't on the front sight is when I needed extra shots which cost time. I want to stay with the positive things that happened I don't want to hash over the negatives. I know what I need to do.

Feel free to comment on the videos.

USPSA match next sat.

03/09/09 Dry Fire.

Tonight I was really working on my speed to the gun and getting it out of the holster and getting an acceptable sight picture I was not worried about pulling the trigger.

I noticed this weekend after going over the videos that my first shot could be quicker and I discovered that the time I am losing (not to mention makeup shots on steel but that is not the focus for this routine) is getting to the gun and getting it out of the holster.

I will be doing this every other day due to the stress it is putting on my elbow.

USPSA match sat March 14th.

Still working on the new technique for the surrender draw.

Been doing slow mo draws with the eyes closed then opening the eye's to see where the sights are at.So far I am making improvement I am seeing the sights lined up about 95%-98%.(about 85%-90% when I started this drill)

Also noticing where the sights are with just a little movement in the hips to the right or left.

I also made my stance wider which I think is working well for getting the gun up and in my vision.

USPSA match tomorrow will post comments and results when I get them.

I would like to thank everyone for the great advice that I received. If you missed the post you can find it here. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...mp;#entry937009

03/14/09 USPSA match

Today I was mainly testing out the new wider stance low and behold it worked out great.

I shot ok today but not up to my potential. On a couple stages I started off real good and at the end of the stages I ended up rushing the last few shots and it cost me. I need to forget about time while shooting and just shoot like I started the stage (quit rushing at the end.)

It was a great day for shooting and I continue to learn how to refine the little things.

Tomorrow USPSA match at Pasa Park! :D I will be working on not rushing my shots and forget about the time!

What a great weekend 2 days of shooting!

I will post results of both matches on my web page.

I felt pretty good all day I did struggle on two stages due to the pesky no shoots(this is an easy fix). I know what I need to work on! :D Need to work on a no penalty match did not have any mikes but those N/S cost me.

The wider stance still proving to be good and also the new surrender draw.

It was a good day had fun and learned a few things :D

Will post results to my web page when i receive them.

Off next weekend.

I received the results from the matches I shot this past weekend.

Well I for sure need to get back to consistency. I need to work on no penalties at all for the matches. How do I do this? Well I will do it by shooting at my current natural speed and not rush.

I noticed from a couple stages on sunday that I felt so slow I was seeing good and calling the shots but the timer doesn't lie it wasn't slow at all now I need to put all of it together for the whole match. The bottom line is for me to stop rushing and the time will be what it is.(I think the time will usually be quicker).

Off this weekend no matches.

Steel Match.

I shot well yesterday felt pretty good I did have a few mistakes but corrected them as the day went on. What I did notice was that when I focused from target back to the front sight my times felt really slow but they were not and when I did not focus on the sight things went bad fast.......

Now it is time for me to consistently bring my focus back to the front sight I find myself some times rushing and I don't pull my focus all the way back to the front sight from the target my vision kind of gets caught between the two( out in no mans land  )

I finished 3rd overall and 1st limited.

USPSA match next sat weather permitting.

USPSA match today. I had a good match today no penalties! I shot well today although I did I have trouble on the classifier I shot the popper and it started to fall then it stopped and came back up I had already pulled the gun down and had to pull it back up then I fired a couple more shots I got flustered. (lesson learned FOLLOW THROUGH). I had a great day with great people!

I will post results when I get them.

Well I got the word today that I finished 5th in limited and 7th overall from sat USPSA match on 4/11/09.

I thought I had a pretty good day(shot to the best of my ability with no penalties or major mistakes) and that my finish would have been better than it was. I don't have the complete results yet so I don't know what the times were of the 5 stages. I will review them when I get them.

Looks like I need to convert to Controlled Abandon for a few matches to see what will happen.

Next few matches I am going to really push. Going over the results I think I spent to much time on the sights when I should just be trusting what I need to see (or am seeing)!

Look out! Time for Controlled Abandon Shooting in the next few USPSA matches! I need to really push to get to the next level!

USPSA Match 04/26/09

Today I shot the match in open with my limited gun just to push myself a bit. I had a good day just seeing how far I can push myself. I felt really good all day. I am learning how to trust what I see at speed.

I just installed an SV long flat trigger and it seemed pretty good it felt a little better than the stock STI long curved. Felt like my finger wasn't so cramped if that makes sense.

I finished 2nd in open and 2nd over all shooting my limited gun.

To see results look here

Another great weekend of shooting!

Off next weekend no shooting.

Wasn't the Single Stack Nat's going on this weekend? You could have shot that and cured your withdrawl symptoms. :roflol:

USPSA match 05/09/09

Well I have been pushing the ragged edge in local matches lately and have been shooting open division with my Limited gun. Finished 2nd in open and 3rd overall.

Results from 05/09/09 are posted on my web page(see link below)

It has been going good although I did fall off the edge a couple times but that is ok. I am pushing to get past this plateau in my shooting so this is to be expected not going to beat myself up over it.

I have noticed some big improvements.

Big Steel match Sat(steel challenge type). I will be practicing for it tomorrow. Then I have a uspsa match on sunday I will post results from these matches when I get them.

Really getting ready for the Indiana Sectional match in June, can't wait!

Maybe I will see you at Indiana B)

Boy I am glad I checked things out with my equipment. My gun started to have hammer follow tonight when checking it by racking the slide on an empty chamber did not happen every time but once is enough for me. So I check the trigger pull with my gauge and it has fallen to 1lb 10oz :surprise: It was about 2lbs when it was new. Few adjustments and I am good to go I like my trigger at about 2lbs. after the adjustments came out to 2lbs 3oz average of 5 readings. :D

Checked over travel, pre travel all checked out good.

It always pays to check over your equipment before a big match.

I will be test firing it tomorrow in a practice session.

It is going to be a great 3 days of shooting this weekend.

05/16/09

2009 Central Pro-Am Speed plates.

I had a good day we shot 12 stages of steel challenge type stages. It was a long day but it was a blast. We had total of 55 shooters, 24 in Limited,18 in open and 11 in production.

Finished 2nd in Limited and 10th combined divisions.

We shot 6 stages in the morning and took a 1 hour break and shot 6 stages in the afternoon.

I was about 5.5 seconds out of 1st Limited at the break(which I never looked at until the end of the match) but the afternoon I gave up a little over 11 seconds after the break. I had a better morning than I did in the afternoon. I still had a good day! Sure it could have been better but it was what it was on that day!

I was going to shoot a USPSA match today but I did not make it after yesterday I couldn't get my A@# out of bed :roflol:

Now it is time to get ready for Indiana Sectional!

Results can be found at http://rhebert.nightowl.net/IPSC.htm
