Dryfire for 1 hr.

Worked on transitions and the draw.

Today worked on pushing myself on the draw. I noticed that pushing hard on the draw at first it was way out of control.

As I continued to push it seemed to become more controlled started seeing the sights as they came up to the target. I have not been using a par time until today(dont want to feel rushed during dry fire). I normally just use the timer for the start beep.

I think I will alternate using the par time. I like to work on being smooth in dryfire. I dont do much live fire due to time and it is 50 miles oneway to the range. What do you guys think about using the par time during dry fire? I know Steve Andersons book uses par times for alot of the drills. I feel if I use the par time alot I start to get sloppy and feel rushed to make the time.

Dryfire for 1hr 30min.

Today I worked on draws, reloads on the move and transitions.

Transitions went very well. I was seeing clearly snapping the eyes to the target spot and the sights showed up right where I was looking.(sometimes caught my vision not catching the exact target spot)

Also worked on some reloads getting out of position going to the next position. Trying to get the reload done early here is some video of that. Let me know what you think!

Feel free to make any comments or suggestions.

Dryfire for 1hr.

Worked on reloads on the move from both directions (left and right). Stronghand, weakhand, transitions.

I think it went very well again tonight, getting ready for club match on sunday.

Felt very smooth and again the vision is spot on!

I have another video with reloads this time stepping out of the box with my right foot instead of my left. (Which was suggested by Flex. Thanks man.) I liked stepping out with my right foot it seemed a little easier to get the reload finished.

Dryfire 1hr.

stronghand,weakhand,transitions,movement box to box w/reload.

Today I really didnt feel up to dryfire. I did it anyway and it went good. I didnt push or try for any amazing time, just let it happen and wow did that make a difference felt good. I just sat back watched things happen and I think it turned out to be one of my best practices. Well I will be taking a day off from dryfire tomorrow. Getting ready for a club match on sunday, I do need to load some bullets.

Shot a club match today which had 6 stages. Most of the stages where close stand and shoots and one field coarse. All good stages.

Stage #1 4 strings ,3-targets about 7yds 2 or 3yds apart.

Sring 1

Standing in box A facing up range wrist above shoulders. Engage T1-T3 w/2 shots ea.

String 2

standing in box A facing left side of box A engage T1-T3 w/2 shots

String 3

standing in box A facing targets engage T1-T3 w/2 shots ea.

String 4

standing in box A facing right side of box a engage T1-T3 w/2 shots ea.

I shot this pretty well mostly A's ,few C's,1 D. I got caught in a speed focus on the last string coming into T1(started shooting from right to left.) I had a D hit because I saw brown as I was coming into the last target. (did not find the target spot )

Stage #2

6 targets 3 no shoots Targets were stacked three per stand and no shoots in the middle of each set of targets. Shoot T1-T3 which were on the bottom mandatory reload shoot T4-T6 w/2rds ea.

I shot this one well also. Hit the reload good, hit the head shot on T6 seen the sight lift on each shot gave up some points because I got into the speed focus again. Good hits but had a few more C's than I wanted.

Stage #3

6 paper targets,3 us poppers.

Shot this one ok I had a problem on paper from the left side you really had too lean around a wall w/out stepping over the fault line and lost my ballance stepped out from the fault line and had to get my foot back in.Also had two make up shots on one popper. Had good hits but the make up shots hurt me on time and falling out of the fault line.(rushed the shot on the popper trying to make up time from the fault line issue).

Stage 4

Classifier CM 08-03 six

Again had problems with the USP I had 3-4 make up shots all because I was lacking visual patience.I kept edging the popper it was dinging but would not fall just kept nicking it. But I think I had all A's.(from what I can recall. Time was 4.??.

Stage 5

1 paper, 4 USP's

I shot this one ok I had 1 makeup shot again on one of the USP's. (again because of visual patience). Had all A's.

Stage 6

27 rd field coarse.

This was my best stage of the day! All targets were shot through ports but you could not get right up on the ports because of the fault line so there was alot of little movements almost had to make liitle steps to see each target through the ports. I had one bobble with the reload I didnt hit the mag release hard enough but it still wasnt bad. The thing was about this stage was that I felt it was very slow and turned out to be a good time 18.?? secs. All good hits mostly A's and some C's.

All and all it was a great day! I was shooting and the gun ran 100%. Also another match w/no penalties. I will post results when I get them. Its all up to USPSA Gods to where I finish I did all I could do today. :P

BK

Here are the results consistency paid off again. The little mistakes did hurt me a little but I got my points. Only won one stage finished first in my division and 2nd over all.

I know I can shoot better than this I just seen to much on some targets(it took less of a precise sight picture) and not enough on others!(it took more of a precise sight picture) Did not trust my sight picture. I will be working on this! :D

Dry fire 45min

Worked on pushing my transitions, felt real good and noticed as I kept the speed up on the transitions that it became easier to see.

I am going to continue to work on transitions only, this week. I feel like working on one thing will help keep my mind from getting cloudy.(focus on the task at hand). Also started shooting 2 shots per target rather than just 1 shot.

Dry fire 1hr

Worked on transitions,stronghand,weakhand.

I feel it is coming together I am seeing faster I had a few times that the front sight was not in the notch of the rear sight.Usally the front post was out of the notch high which would cause me to shoot high(calling my shots). Also had a few that I pulled the trigger before I saw the front sight.(rushing the shot, visual patience). Excellent sesion vision is getting faster.

Dry fire

Worked on transitions.

Found during my draw I was not driving the gun to the target causing the sights not to be there when the gun came on target. I was not bringing the gun up far enough to my weakhand and then pushing out too the target.(Fixed that problem) The next problem that came up was my weakhand grip was not strong enough.(too relaxed) Well fixed this problem and continued to dry fire it seemed like it was going alot better after the problems were identified and fixed. The swings from target to target seemed smoother and the sights were spot on where I was looking.(didnt have to re-align anything).

It was a good day!

Dry Fire 30min.

Taking 2 days off of dry fire which I think is well deserved. I feel when I take a little break things really come together when I start back up!

Transitions,grip,draw.

Working on my grip and draw for the things I found from yesterday and it is going good. My grip is staying consitent and bringing the gun up higher on the draw is working well. Transitions were spot on today gun went right to where I was looking.(sometimes not getting the exact target spot but the gun was going where I was looking). Need to work more on the exact spot on the target.

It was another great day!

Dry Fire

Transitions,reloads,draw

Worked on getting my par times set for each drill and working the times down on the timer.

All went well again had a few mistakes but they did not go unnoticed.

During a reload today I hit the magazine comming out of the gun with the fresh mag :surprise: wow I didnt think that was possible for me to do. This pushing hard with the par times is really going to help me break through. Also I really like my new grip that I stippled feels great! See pics in previous post if interested.

Steel Match

Shoot ea. stage 5 times and take best 4 runs.

I had some problems with my grip (gripping to hard) and was not stopping the gun on each target causing some misses which I had to have make-up shots on that really killed my times. I was inconsistent today. Some of my times where good on which I didnt need any make up shots. I will post the results when I get them. Not a bad day I just need to get more consistent. Discovered some problems that need to be worked out. I did not follow the proper firing cycle. see this Mike Seeklander firing cycle

I did not stop the gun on the target! I let speed take over(mental note: never a good thing to do!)

Dryfire

Worked on things from yesterdays match that I noticed, grip and stopping the gun on the target.

It is working out well. I went back to not using a par time because I feel I am trying to just make the par time and not paying attention to what I should be. I think some bad habits are creeping in.

Dry Fire 30min

Noticed on the reloads today that if I dont tilt the gun to much that the new mag inserts much easier and very consistent.(Just by tilting just enough to see the ridge on the magwell not the whole opening). Transitions and draws went well. Bugs are getting worked out each time I dry fire. My grip today was great didnt have a death grip on the gun which made for a better draw and the sights to stop right where I was looking.(including transitions).

It was a good day!

I am cutting down my dry fire time to 2- 3 days a week for 30 min. to get back to the fundamentals.

I feel I have been dry firing too much(not focusing on what I should be) causing me not to focus on the fundamentals.

Dry fire 30 min.

Chronoed some loads on sunday. I have been reading about people that have not had good things to say about Titegroup or have had bad expierences example: Heats the gun up to much, not consistent readings on the chrono not very accurate ect.. I thought about changing powders but after chrono test on sunday I will be using Titegroup(it was also recommended by my gunsmith). The load I am using is very accurate in my gun. Results of chrono below.

Using WSP 180gr MGB JHP OAL 1.218-1.220 crimp .417 Winchester range brass. Shot over a Oehler chrono indoors @ 68 F 38% humidity. These were taken from my range bag at random just checking for same head stamp. Shot from a STI EAGLE 5" bushing barrel.

Dry fire 30min.

Found a problem with my grip my weak hand was going to far forward causing a gap between my strong hand and weak hand. The weak hand palm was not making complete contact with the left side of the gun.(I am right handed) I will continue to work on this tomorrow in dry fire. Also getting ready for steel match on Sat.

Dry fire 30min

Just worked on my grip position on the gun. Lately have been having trouble getting my weak hand in the correct position. Working on draws(slow) and getting my grip more consistent. Worked out good in dry fire. We will see in live fire tomorrow at the local steel match.

I recently changed back to a red fiber last weekend well I went back to black fiber and it is much better. When I had the red fiber in I was just seeing red and pulling the trigger. So I went back to black which is the way have been shooting it.
