USPSA Match 07/10/10

Finished 1st in Limited 2nd overall. I was struggling with steel on one stage today, not following through on the steel time to go do some drills with steel/paper also think I am rushing the shots on the steel. Next weekend is a Steel match on Saturday and a USPSA match on Sunday. Getting ready for Indiana the following weekend!

Finished 3rd over all 2nd Limited on Saturday at our local steel match. At the USPSA match on Sunday at PASA Park I finished 6th overall and 2nd Limited worked some things out but I had a new problem Sunday at the USPSA a match on 2 stages I dropped a mag on the reload I got a little lackadaisical in seating the mag! So I could have had a better match than I did! That is ok I worked somethings out and I will be ready for Indiana this weekend.

I read something today (I have read it before but it has been a while) it really hit home this time I read it. Sometimes we just have to be reminded of the little things! To see what I am talking about look here http://www.maxmichel...eShotsCount.htm

Heading out to Indiana tomorrow! Hope to see some of you there.

Indiana Section I finished 14th overall and 5th A class.

I had a slow start could not get things together but after lunch break things started to come together. I shot 82.21% of Chris Keen which I am pretty happy about. I did learn some things and squad 12 was great! I will be using what I learned from this match to better my self at the next major! Congrats to all the winners!

What I will be working on is my stage plans for sure and getting those POINTS. I don't have a problem with programming the stage I just think that at The Indiana sectional there where a couple stages that I could have had a better plan for me.

After going over the video I know where I am really losing some time. I am mostly losing time in my transitions, also need to get the hits on the first shot. Again I had a great time and know what I need to work on! Thanks to Steel1212 for taking the video and putting it together for me!

I had the best live fire session today than I have had in a long time. I was shooting a 4 target drill ranging from 5 to 40 yds. I have not down this drill before and I learned what I could get away with on varying distance targets! I also shot BE's Part 1 transition drill and this was also an eye opener! Look here for the drill and what I discovered for me http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=109493&pid=1260170&st=0entry1260170

Steel Match today.

I really got to get things together I am in a major slump. I have a few good runs and then take a dive. It is definitely time to get back to my dry fire routine. I will be starting back on my dry fire starting on Monday. Sunday will be a day of relaxation!

Finished 3rd overall and 2nd Limited missed 1st by 9 seconds that is just not acceptable!

Dry fire 20min

Again working on transitions after just 2 days I am starting to see the sights getting on the target "spot" quicker. The transition from the target "spot" to the sights is also quicker(it is like they just appear in focus right where I am looking). Before it was taking my eyes a little longer getting a focus on the sights. Continue dry fire again tomorrow. Target spot..sights Target spot..sights Target spot..sights!

Steel Match 08/14/10

I had a pretty good day today. Still rushing on a few runs but I am getting better at not letting it creep in.

2010 IL Sectional.

It was a tough match lots of hard cover and no shoots. I shot way to slow(did not trust what I learned from my practice sessions) and made to many errors in my movement and mental game. It was like I could not get it going! I will be using BE's Control/Abandon tip to iron this out.Even in matches it will be balls out for a while if I tank well so be it! I feel I am to the point to start pushing as hard as I can both in matches and in practice!

This is the last I will discuss the IL Sectional because I have to put this match behind me. Going over the stages I was 3.5-4 seconds on average behind the pace. I shot the points pretty good I did have a few mikes (4 total still to many but a slow mike sure hurts more than a fast mike :roflol:) and only had 3 D's for the whole match. Bottom line is I need to get my A#$ in gear and push hard! Local USPSA match this weekend and I will be pushing hard come hell or high water if I drowned I drowned I will continue to push until I drowned no more. At this point the only way I am going to get over of this hurdle is to push hard and keep pushing even after the wheels fall off eventually the wheels won't fall off ....Right?:roflol:

Local USPSA match this weekend.

I am working on getting over the hurdle I am stuck on right now. I am not really looking at it as going faster but I am just going to open up and see. In other words I am going to see what I can get away with on each and every target. Shooting at the earliest possible point that I can on every target. Kind of shooting on the edge I guess and if I fall off that edge I will keep pushing until the edge becomes a comfort zone and then it will be time to push again! I will try to get some video of this weekends match so stay tuned this could be exciting!

ARPC Match 08/29/2010

Well I think I had the most fun that I have had shooting in a long time! My goal was to unleash the beast with out caring about points, match placement or anything else, I just wanted to open up and see! I accomplished this and learned a few things in the process. Just by not caring what happens sure made this day of shooting the best time I have had in a long time. I will continue to unleash the beast in me!:roflol: Here is the video! What a blast!

Well I received my DAA Race Master holster today(from Shooters Connection Thanks SC!). I am excited to get it put on my belt and get it all adjusted and start dry firing with it. This will be my first race holster I have ever used. I was always hesitant about using a race holster from seeing guns fall out of the the holsters so I always used a DOH holster in limited, until now after reading a lot about the DAA holster I decided to take the plunge and get a Race Holster. I will post what I think after a few days of dry firing with the holster and using the holster in a match this weekend.

CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP! I knocked my gun off the bench and hit the concrete floor and bent the front sight! (no other damage) Now I have to put a new one on. It is always something! Local USPSA match this weekend I have to install a sight, sight my gun in on saturday, load some bullets. At least I took the day off on Friday from work thought I was going to have a nice relaxing time loading some ammo for this weekend, not anymore!

Well I have a sight coming from SC and it should be here Friday! What an expensive mistake!!!! While I was putting my new DAA Race Master holster on my belt I had my gun sitting on the bench and the belt caught the gun and pulled it off the bench the gun fell right on the front sight onto the concrete floor. Lesson learned don't set the gun so close to the edge of the bench should have put it some where else! Any way I got the holster all dialed in which was really easy to do. I did some dry fire practice with it and to my surprise it was easy to adjust to. The first thing I really noticed with the race holster was how consistent my grip was on the gun, never missed a grip. Out of the DOH holster my grip consistency was not as good. I will do some live fire draws this Saturday after match setup since I have to sight in my gun when I put the new front sight on. Match on sunday will post more about the holster later.
