EricW
I was practicing reloads the other day. When I looked at my stock STI magwell, I noticed that the magwell doesn't fully cover the grip at the front. (When looking at the grip from the bottom, barrel pointing forward.) There's actually a flat spot of the grip exposed. Is this just a feature of the STI part? Or do people grind off the plastic there to fit the magwell. (If this is totally unclear, I'll post a picture.) Just curious.... E
eerw
Carefully use a Dremel and blend that area... Seems most of the current magwell...Dawson, EGW..need the modification to the grip frame area..Krebs was square up front and didn't need it.. EricW
"Carefully?" This is *me* we're talking about here... Now where did I put the Sawzall.... Thanks!
shred
Dremel away.. it's nothing a $90 piece of plastic won't fix. A sharp knife also works pretty well. Alternatively remove the followers, sharpen the front end of your mags and go do a lot more reload practice..
ErikW
Same thing with other magwells on mine. Rat-tail file, half-round file, and sandpaper blended them nicely.
EricW
Three great answers in one hour after a question is asked. I knew I liked it here for a reason.
2alpha
Be careful because you can break through and have some daylight showing. The area where the front strap meets the mag well is pretty thin, just make sure you do most of your plastic removal below that line.

warpspeed
EricW, When you get done with the dremel and file, use some 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper to get the plastic back to original finish.
