stubbicatt
I remember 1991 when primers were scarce. Have you guys noticed how the primers seem to have dried up again?
Joe D
I talked to someone at Federal the other week about another issue. I asked about primers while I had him on the phone. He told me all of their primer production was going to their loaded ammo. His advice was to get as many as I could.
shred
The local Sportsmans Warehouse hasn't had any Winchester in a long time. They've got some of the expensive primers around, but that's about it. I blame DST-change hoarding.

TonyT
In th SW Michigan area there is a plentiful supply of Remington and Winchester but no Federal. Must be a lot of revolver shooting going on somewhere!
Steve Moneypenny
military has bought ammo like crazy and they are loading all the primers into ammo... which really sucks for our prices.

Eager
Great! I just spent $1k on a new 550b, reloading gear, bench set-up and lights and now I can't get a single primer locally (yes I've looked).
1911user
This is nothing like 1994 shortage (massive buying due to upcoming legislation) when even mail orders for primers were backordered for several months. I remember buying the 500 store limit on each size when they would get some in stock. People who need Federal primers are probably in worse shape, but in general it's not bad, yet. I could order 20K of my normal primers this afternoon and they'd be delivered before the weekend. Edited March 7, 2007 by 1911user
