Gennady-Kh
I have to replace it after about 300 shots during 1 hour training: front sphere melting too much and rod is falling out. could it be wrong filament material? Wrong installation in the site? thanks!
GrumpyOne
Wrong powder. What powder are you using?
Gennady-Kh
Have to ask reloading company. in matches I’m using brand new ammo like Remington, S&B and rod is fine after 150-180 shots
GrumpyOne
Some powders burn hotter than others. TiteGroup is known to burn hotter and melt / distort fiber optic rods.
Dr Mitch
Look up videos on how to properly install the fiber optic rod. I use Titegroup exclusively and am only replacing the FO rod every 15k-20k rounds.

RePete
I purchased an STI Trojan 45ACP in 2007 and put the Dawson F/O front sight on it. I was expecting to replace it in about 2 years. It's shot through out he summer, clean in an ultrasonic cleaner and it's still going strong, albeit a little lighter. It's red and I prefer green. I also use a little bit of E6000 (rubber cement-like adhesive) on the underside so the fiber doesn’t fall out.
Yeti
TiteGroup crisped/dulled my FO inserts in ~1000rds of Major PF. Other loads I can go most of the season.
