Wasn't uncommon for us to load bullets this way deliberately in the belief that they would be more destructive. Of course that is pretty much BS but decades ago it sounded cool. I have a automatic bullet feeder and periodically it serves one up backwards. Most of the time I catch it and remove the case before crimping but have also just run them through and shot them on steel and paper. They didn't show anything wild when shooting either.
