taxil343
Anyone run a PT optic mount with Infinity screws? Bought some of the fancy Infinity sight mount screws with matching grip and mag button screws. Didn’t know the sight mount screws were 6-40 until they arrived. I was planning to use a PT optic mount, just wondering if the larger screws/heads will work and sit flush or below the side of the optic mount. I use a thumb rest so the screws can’t be proud of the optic mount.
rishii
Is the holes in your frame threaded to 6-40? 5-40 is much more common

Brooke
Not sure I understand correctly so I should stay out of this. If your gun's frame is drilled and tapped for 5-40 screws (most are) damned if I would be drilling and tapping that frame. The mount is not threaded so there should be no issue there. Sorry if I misunderstand what you're saying but drilling and tapping the frame makes zero sense to me
TK66
Also, drilling out the frame might void your warranty.
HI5-O
If you’re going to be mounting a thumb rest the screw heads will be covered and can’t see them. I would just use the 5-40 screws and it will allow the thumb rest to seat flush against the mount.
attakmint
https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/129/3429/94414A121 PT recommends these 5-40 Torx plus screws for their own guns. You'll probably have to shorten them. Cutoff wheel or sanding drum on a dremel, plus some sandpaper on a flat surface to square it off.
