.45 ACP nut
I take a pair of vise grips/channel lock pliers and crush the rim so no one else can use them, then put them in the recycled brass bin. frankge
Supposedly they are cheaper to produce because the machines that make them are cheaper to buy and operate. Something about the extrusion process is more complex for normal cases.

I don't know if he is still using them, as I don't know how supply chain issues may have affected them...
9x45
Stepped cases have been around for some time. AmmoLoad, MaxxTech, IMT and Freedom Munitions. Prone to separating, especially in a carbine. Not worth loading.
Arcrunner
Also, the OZK/Freedom munitions cases I've come across are actually like brass washed or coated steel (in addition to being stepped cases), they attach to my test magnet. Regular OZK ammo that I came across a few weeks ago seems like it's not magnetc, but still stepped. Edited January 11 by Arcrunner
