Gun Cover

Suggestions concerning gun covers used to protect gun while in holster between stages.

CR Speed make the best cover I've seen. You can put in on your gun while holstered (using a race holster) and then remove your gun from your holster in the safety area(because it is full bagged) or you can just wear it around. It is slick.

Next time you stay at a motel, grab the throwaway shower cop. Might also find them in a drugstore. Does the job cheap.

Bad advice about bagging on the holster, and removing the gun. It is not legal.

Missed that conversation, a bit overzealous IMO It is still a good product even if you have to wander to a safety area to remove it from the holster.

I remember seeing Eric Grauffel at 04' natls walking around with a Walmart bag wrapped around his gun. Funny, but it works.

Ong gave me my current favorite-- it's neoprene, I think made by the Scopecoat people. My favorite part is the ambidextrous and one-size fits-all nature of it.

Before that (and I still keep a stash in the bottom of my shooting bag), the gallon-size Ziplock baggies work great. They have a thousand uses from gun covers to brass bags to scoresheet bags and so on..

I keep a couple of small sandwich-sized baggies in my bag to cover my electronic hearing protection in the event of rain. Cheap and effective.

I won a gun cover from Shooters Connection and it does the job. Chuck is also a huge supporter of the sport and is at the top of my list of places to buy shooting products.
