scgun
Hello, which range would you choose in my place? Pro/Contra Indoor: + all year practice + more than 1 bay + sanitary facilities availabe - short width 25x10yard - some steel targets allowed because of walls Pro/Contra Outdoor: + only 1 big bay 40x40yard + many steel targets available - weather dependend - no sanitary facilities +/- gravel USPSA Shooting at both ranges allowed. Same fees and travel distance. Any other reasons I should consider? Thx.
Sarge
I don’t go to the range to poop so I say outdoor all the way! Actually outdoor ranges are better, period. Indoors is too loud, too restrictive, often more crowded than outdoor range.
Yeti
Don't know where you reside, but if it is above 42°N you can extend your season with indoor range. I am not a big indoor range fan, but when the weather sucks it is much more hospitable.

Because if you can get one scheduled when you want fairly easily and on a relatively short notice, that's where I'd go for practice.
Jim Watson
What kind of indoor range gives you a 10 yard width? But why is it either-or? In my case, it is where should I shoot TODAY?
Teeto
id choose the outdoor range unless it was too hot/cold. i feel like they're more versatile. also how far out do they go? Edited July 18, 2021 by Teeto
StefVanHauwe
In Belgium we don't really have a choice. I would say 98% of all shooting ranges are indoors. Very few are outdoors. If I would have a choice, I'd prefer outdoor ranges, amongst the above mentioned pro's, also less lead intake. DVC!
