cworks
Im sitting on 18 pounds of IMR SR 7625 that I used with my 38SC open pistol. I don’t compete anymore and with the way things are these days I’m looking for alternative powder uses. Currently I only reload 5.56, 9mm and 300 blackout. What cartridge should I adopt to use this powder?
PhilTerry
It has been used for 9mm successfully, lots of data on the web.
cworks
Thanks. I assumed It was to hot and my quick search lead me to It being a shotgun powder.
Don_B
It works very well in 9mm. Just not for 9 major as it requires almost a full case to get the needed velocity. If we lived closer I would offer to trade rifle powder for the 7625. This was one of my favorite powders then they quit making it.
cworks
Yeah at the time I was competing a lot and bought as much as I could. Guess I’ll do some load development for my 9mm
Farmer
3.9-4.3 works really good for me in the 9. I used it in everything for quite a while, even target loads in the 44 mag.

RudyVey
I looked to day in my powder stash, and I found three pounds of 4756, another universal IMR powder.
Farmer
Just looked and with a 124 Precision FP I used 4.3 and with a 170g Precision FN in the 10mm 6.0g makes a nice accurate target load. Edited November 23, 2020 by Farmer
