Do SVI 9mm/38 mags need a spacer for 9mm?

I have two 170mm SVI mags that I use in a McLearn 38 SC open gun.  Thinking about trying a 9mm major gun.  Do the SVI mags need a spacer for 9mm?  They have Grams followers.  I also have some MBX mags.  From what I read they don't need a spacer, correct?    Thanks.

If they have one wide indent in the side (all actual SVI tubes should) they do not.

No, never had an issue with the old style or the new.

No, I have done it with the same mags.   I have a 90's SV open gun with a bunch (3x170's & 3x140's) 1st gen mags that was chambered in 9x23.  I had it re-barreled into 9mm and the mags run fine with no changes.

I run 9mm with no spacers. Haven’t had a mag issue yet. The same cannot he said about sti mags with no spacer....

I have both 9mm (spacer) mags and 38SC (no spacer) mags that I run in my 9mm 1911 with zero problems.  I shoot 9mm minor with typical 9mm COAL, so they're not loaded long, either.

no. no need for spacer. besides i load 9mm long 1.180-1.190 depending on the profile of the bullet i use.
