Woodsparrow
I was looking to add a magwell to my SP01. Called CZCustom and they told me that I'd need/want to use the +2 baseplates they sell, but those only work with the 18 round SP magazines, and do not work with Mecgar magazines at all. I bought the SP used so I'm using a mixture of 17 and 19 round Mecgar magazines. Anyone offer insight here? Did the CZC rep misunderstand my question? Would I need to convert to SP01 mags before doing the rest of the conversion? It was nearly 400$ for the magwell, baseplates, short grips, and mainspring plug. Adding on 5 new magazines on top of that is a bit prohibitive.

Cajun Gun Works had an IDPA ESP magwell I used with regular length grips and mags when I had my cz https://shop.springerprecision.com/Springer-Precision-CZ75-ESP-magwell-SP0319.htm just found it Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
MoRivera
I use a CZUB aluminum mag well/funnel on my long-slide..... I use Mec-Gar mags, 10-rounders which are the same as the regular 17-rounders. For baseplates, I use the Shockbottle aluminum ones..... https://benstoegerproshop.com/cz-sp-01-shadow-shadow-2-easy-off-basepads-by-shockbottle/

So I'm confused easily by magwell stuff for some reason. What is a 'mag break'? It's also spelled brake on the page a couple times. I do like the look of that one since it wouldn't require new grips. I'm assuming I would want or need base plate extensions, which looks like since I'm using 17 round Mecgar magazines (with a couple +2 base plates) I would use this: https://shop.springerprecision.com/Springer-Precision-CZ75-EZ-140mm-base-pads-Mecgar-17-round-mag-SP0318.htm

CZUB doesn't turn up anything. Though that one does require swapping to short grips.

I got mine from Armory Craft, IIRC.... https://www.armorycraft.com/product-page/cz-75-alluminum-magwell-black But if they're out of stock, can also be gotten here.... https://cesar-shop.com/product/magwell-thin-for-sp-

JD31
Which one you guys recommend that IDPA legal and you can still use the stock 18 Roundmagazines that come with CZ SPO1 from the custom shop and still use the thin aluminum grips that they install. I think the springer precision might not require grip change, but I'm not sure yet. Looks like most/all will require a magazine base pad change just due to how it works. Springer changes the magazine brake, might be worth looking at. CZCustom has base pads specifically for the 18 round SP magazine so might be able to combine the two for what you want? DAN1911
http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/40270_Aluminum-Magwell-Small-Frame-Black or what ever color you would like. This set for me works well but, doesn't force your hand up into beaver tail like the CZC. I cut my lok grips to fit https://www.henningshop.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1291106&CAT=10024 these mags bases prevent accidental pulling the next mag out. I am pretty sure it make weight in IDPA ESP

The gun I have pictured in my post above actually fit in the IDPA 'box', with thumb rest removed of course but even lengthwise and with the magazine....but the overall gun is too heavy (I use it for USPSA and plates/steel). 1 hour ago, DAN1911 said: http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/40270_Aluminum-Magwell-Small-Frame-Black or what ever color you would like. The best I've found for IDPA is the CZ Custom IDPA magwell, you have to use the stock 18rd sp01 magazines with it, use their thin aluminum idpa magwell basepads, or cut the fatory basepad down. Great setup, next would be the CZUB Magwell, with the 17rd mec gar magazines and shockbottle basepads.

Nepherael
If I'm understanding you right you still have factory baseplates. Sounds like it is because a reg base pad is a little harder to use with a magwell (some of them won't even insert all the way because the plate is as wide as the base of the gun). I designed a magwell for the shadow 2 (which I think has same frame as SP01) and had to add an excessive amount of flare to accommodate factory baseplates. I would start with the magwell and just be willing to do some filing on the baseplate. My factory mecgar mags all had cheap plastic baseplates so I had no issue doing some filing.
