Justin M
Has anyone tried having a revolver Cerakoted before? If so, does it hold up to "competition" use? I've had a couple of 1911s Cerakoted and they have held up just fine. I'm not to sure how it'd hold up from the cylinder gap blast, etc.
GrumpyOne
I did a search on Google for cerakoted revolver...it brought up a bunch of images...as for how they hold up? I don't know. I would think the drag mark on the cylinder would be the first place that would wear.

GrumpyOne
Well, with Cerakote being an actual baked on ceramic, i would think that heat would not have too much effect on it...but something dragging on it continuously would...
MemphisMechanic
Cylinder gap blast is going to be rather similar to how well cera kote holds up to use on a semiauto’s compensator, I’d imagine. It does just fine in that situation.
jcc7x7
WE did the wife's 627 Purple !!! WOW The cyl has the same burn marks as my 627 and 929 do from the cyl gap. It cleans up well with just the small burn mark at the end of the cyl. If I wanted to do a revolver I wouldn't hesitate cause they hold up fine. Her gun gets about 300-400 rounds a month between matches and practice. Her gun was done by Scalpel Arms in Texas. They did small Christian "cross" on each flute of the cyl. - They had to cerakote the cyl gray first then do the Cross's It's where the drag marks would be. The gun was tuned and fitted by me prior to being done so it was properly timed and had a very light drag mark etc. This is a new laptop so the photo isn't in this one. I'll try and find it and add it. Neil

Justin M
On that purple 627, where the sideplate screws Cerakoted? If so, are they just chipped to hell or what happened there? I'll be honest, that would make my head explode.
