1hotrod
What are your favorite guns cases to hold those expensive open guns?
davidwiz
Soft or hard? Green Mountain makes several great soft cases. If you're looking for a hardcase, I would suggest looking at Starlight.
shred
Poke around the various 'flying with guns' threads. Lots of good case info in those.
al503
Try a search under 'pelican' and 'skb' for a couple of threads.
sps
pelican is, imho, the best hard case money can buy. but that's just me
TriggerT
pelican is, imho, the best hard case money can buy. but that's just me <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I couldn't agree more. If someone breaks something that is in a Pelican case they had to have been trying REALLY hard. If you are looking for one, PM me. I have one that would be big enough for a open gun and some accessories that I might be looking to sell.
davidwiz
Any of the name brand hardcases, like Pelican, Starlight, etc. can be found new on eBay for under retail.
Garrett
I have a Pelican case for when I fly. For matches, it goes in a Dillon pistol soft case.

TriggerT
As stated above, I looked around on E-bay, and it is by fare the least expensive place to get a good case.

cautery
Got another place for you... Ziegel Engineering They have TONS of stock gun cases. I just ordered a custom case 4.5" x 10" x 18" with hidden hardware and dual cam-locks. 3 weeks lead time for a custom job; order direct for stock items. Dillon has a few of their stock items. I'll report back on how I like the results... Should be nice. Aluminum, TIG welded, etc.
1hotrod
Hmm...still a tough choice.. I do like that air valve on the Pelican case though.

davidwiz
Pelican is a good brand. Starlight has an air valve too.
cautery
Pretty sure the Ziegel has the equalization valve, but I'd better call to make sure. Thanks for the reminder.
shred
I long ago removed the valves from my Pelican and Starlight/SKB cases in order to accomodate my trick locking scheme. I don't miss the valve at all.
cautery
My Ziegel is supposed to come with dual cam locks that use the "coke machine" style key/lock cylinder. 'd be interested in a PM as to how you "trick lock" your cases with the equaliztion valve hole though.
Rufus The Bum
SKB. Their built like a bomb shelter and are only about $

TSA can get into the main case, poke around and still can't 'lose' your blaster.
cautery
Neat trick... Never occurred to me that I needed to do something like that... Now, I am thinking again. Guess I'll get it figured out before I have to fly the first time.
norbs007
Have you guys looked at Storm Cases by Hardigg? Storm Case I heard that they are as good as the Pelican cases.
