Accuracy?

I threw a rifle together last week and took it out to do a little testing.  Shoots great.....Runs reliably.....Accuracy at 100 yards is laughable.  At 50 yards it isn't terrible but at 100 about a 5 inch group was the best I could come up with.  I've tried a few things to narrow down the problem but I am curious what some of you guys are seeing accuracy wise at 100 yards and what barrel/bullet wight/velocity combo seems to work.

I've come to expect 2-3" groups at 100 yards with jhp bullets. Bayou and similar coated are typically 4-5".

w cheap projectiles, an unmagnified dot site i'm totally fine with a 4" group at 100yrd with my pcc

w better bullets and a better sight my expectations increase.

My Sig MPX groups chest A-zone at 100yards. Past 50 yards we are really asking to much for 9mm to do.

You think 5" at 100 yards is bad?  It's a 9mm, I wouldn't really expect anything better than that...

My GMR 13 shoots my 124 hp hand loads much better than factory ball ammo. My groups improved a lot. With a red dot it shoots a inch or better at 25 yards and under 2 inches at 50 yards all day.  Ne Never shot rifle with a scope but would assist in better groups.
