lwink
I've been swapping recoil springs on a couple pistols (1911, XD, beretta) to try and minimize the muzzle movement. I don't necessarily shoot these guns competitively regularly, but like the idea of a properly tuned spring rate, but also don't want to damage the gun with too light of a spring (is this possible). Is there a way to tell how light I can go before diminishing returns/long term potential for damage? Let me know if more info is needed, Thanks! Hi-Power Jack
If you give specifics on each gun / load combo, we have some resident experts on each of the platforms you've mentioned. But, they'll need to know more about the particulars of the ammo you're using.

gixxerjunky
Ok I'll start. CZ shadow custom loaded with 147 FP using VVN320 at 130-135 PF. Also using the same load in a P09, P01, M&P9, and a CZ Scorpion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
lwink
Springfield xdm 9mm, wolff 14# I believe, might be 16#, using factory 115FMJ loads (1250+/-fps). Standard slide, no other mods that should come into play.
Hi-Power Jack
If the spring is too heavy, the empty cases will dribble out ... probably start to get stovepipes.
acutler
Agree - I find when the sling is just right the cases fly out!
