Cody_2130
I'm getting ready to order a couple choke tubes for my nova, I have an extended choke in it now but was wondering if extended chokes are worth the extra $20 each?
Flatland Shooter
Two benefits: each choke is clearly marked and a they little easier to install without tools. For field use, standard chokes work fine for me, but for competition, all my chokes are the extended variety.
mpom
Not to diminish what has been said, but big advantage for me is that I can tell if/when my choke is loose with the extended choke just by trying to tighten it. If it moves... With the OEM recessed ones, it would be quite loose before it was obvious, unless I put a tool or a quarter on it. Found Trulock chokes to be very good quality and reasonably priced. https://trulockchokes.com/ Edited January 28, 2016 by mpom
T Bacus
Extended chokes are much easier to remove if the tube becomes stuck, either from fouling or rust. For that reason I also recommend natural stainless tubes.
thermobollocks
My 22" 930 with the 9 round tube needs an extended choke to be perfectly flush. It's a small thing, but it makes me look like I know what I'm doing.

TonytheTiger
Still doesn't make sense. How does your choke tube length change people's perception of your competence?
thermobollocks
Some people get tube envy. Plus, you can get them in attractive color coding so you look like a baller.
