scottlep
We are extremely excited that Guthsville Rod & Gun Club will once again be hosting Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) sanctioned matches in 2016. Thanks to the overwhelming success of the 2014 and 2015 Pennsylvania State Steel Challenge Series, we have decided to kick it up a notch. In 2016 we will be hosting the Tom Benjamin Memorial Steel Challenge Series featuring three SCSA sanctioned matches, including the Spring and Summer Tier 1 matches and the NEW 2016 East Coast Steel Challenge Championship which will be a Tier 3 SCSA match with cash payouts and a huge random drawing prize table. This year’s PA State Steel Challenge Championship match was the largest Steel Challenge sanctioned match in the country. Our three-day State Championship hosted 212 individual shooters, from 14 different states, shooting over 321 different guns. Combined with our Spring and Summer matches, we had over 600 registrations for the entire series. Our 2015 matches were completely sold out for all matches in the series. We had over $12,500 in cash payouts across all three matches and close to $40,000 worth of prizes for the Random Drawing Prize table for our Championship Match. This year we were also honored to have World Champion Max Michel and his son Peyton, and World Champion Doug Koenig and his sons Bradley and Trevor out to shoot the Championship. We also welcomed USPSA Area 8 Director, Steve Thomas and his wife Cindi out to the Championship. Steve posted an awesome review of the match on the USPSA Area 8 Facebook page. Without the support the many sponsors, over 600 registrations over all three 2015 matches, and all of the match staff and volunteers, our 2014 and 2015 match series such could not have been such a HUGE success. We hope that you will once again join us for our 2106 match series. 2016 Match dates are… Spring Match – May 28th, 2016 Summer Match – July 23rd, 2016 East Coast Steel Challenge Championship – September 23rd, 24th, 25th, 2016Registration will be opening today for all matches in the series. Please stop by our Facebook page to check out all the great feedback, pictures, video, etc. - https://www.facebook.com/groups/PASCSA/ and more information can be found on the match website - http://eastcoaststeelchampionship.com Edited October 2, 2015 by scottlep

hornetx40
It was a good match, Ran smooth. Next year should be even better with the 2 matches a day format.
photoracer
So I am guessing you will be reducing the squad sizes for 2016 and maybe not allowing 2 guns per shooter per squad?
hornetx40
Dave said 10 per squad and no 2 guns on the same squad. But you can shoot morning and afternoon. The registration form is showing a morning and afternoon match for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The morning match will of course start earlier than this year. I think he said 8am but you would have to ask him to be sure.
scottlep
Yes, one gun per AM/PM session for all matches. All details including match formats, start times, etc are on the new website and registration form.http://eastcoaststeelchampionship.com

scottlep
thx! I dropped my Speed Option time by 2.1 secs so I'm anxious to see that get recorded .... I dropped 2.02 on Speed Option, with 3.51 dropped across all 8 stages. Unfortunately only 1.38 of it counts towards my classification
Nimitz
yeah but the 3.51 does count toward your overall ranking ...

scottlep
Response from sponsors, old and new, has been overwhelming in the past few days. This week alone we have added a bunch of new sponsors for 2016 and received confirmation that many of our 2014/2015 sponsors will be returning. At this point our random drawing prize table has already passed the $25,000 mark. Below is a list of our 2016 sponsors so far...and we are still over 9 months away from the East Coast Steel Challenge Championship. Don't miss the largest Steel Challenge sanctioned match in the USA in 2016. IHMSA15151
Sounds like a great match. I'll try and convince my wife that we should vacation in PA this fall!
wyliearms
I may try to do one of the other matches and then hit the State. Sounds like fun! Edited January 15, 2016 by wyliearms
photoracer
I was not originally going to do the Spring/Summer matches. But since you opted to do all 6 classifier stages it will enable me to get classified in a couple of my centerfire divisions. Too many clubs opt to skip the fees to get the scores made official.
