MilkMyDuds
I am trying to find the handgun to play in both IDPA and USPSA. It looks like only the non "accu" non "target" models are IDPA legal. As far as I understand, the "target" models have the slide milled to accept the adjustable rear sights, making it illegal in IDPA. Are there any adjustable rear sights for CZ 75 SP01 Shadow without having to machine the slide?

haiedras
That's only elevation adjustable. Not windage adjustable iirc
d_striker
Thought I heard about a new version of the shadow target. Something like a Shadow Target II which has the fully adjustable rear but doesn't have the slide milled.
BeerBaron
my favourite rear sight that fits the standard shadow dovetail is the CZ UB one. this one: https://www.czub.cz/en/catalog/370-pistols/PM3A/1081-0011.aspx http://www.shop-cz.com/adjustable-rear-sight-cz-75-sp-01-sw-shadow/d-71574/ I think CZC or CZUSA have them from time to time. it's adjustable for windage and elevation. I've had other adjustables that were rubbish (I think they were LPA). Have broken 3 of them before I gave up and went back to fixed rear, drift it as needed for windage and buy different height front sights for elevation. At least that way they never move and never break... but a few friends have used the CZ UB one with success. It's legal for IPSC too (if that matters to you). Hi-Power Jack
play in both IDPA and USPSA. WHY? Once you start shooting USPSA you'll never look back - IDPA is no fun.
MilkMyDuds
play in both IDPA and USPSA. WHY? Once you start shooting USPSA you'll never look back - IDPA is no fun. Simply because within 250 miles from me, there are usually 2-3 IDPA matches each weekend, but only 1 USPSA match per month.

BeerBaron
No slide milling. Just make sure you get the correct one for your dovetail.

Is this the "Target II" that people have been talking about? How durable the adjustable rear is? Anyone has first-hand experience with them? Jayohee
http://czcustom.com/czshadowcomprearhajo.aspx The HAJO has broken on me twice, both on my primary and backup gun. The pin that acts as a hinge for the sight to move up/down snapped in the middle on both guns. For my primary it happened after 7,000 rds and on the backup after 2,000 rds. I ended up using Loctite to hold it in place :/
StraightSh00ter
LPA has a sight for the SP01 Shadow (there are options for white lines/dots/whatever on the rear sight): http://www.lpasights.com/en/products?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=68&category_id=29&manufacturer_id=18 Below is a file that shows the different milling profiles of the CZ guns, from CZ Custom website. LPA has sights for a lot of different profiles and I'm pretty sure they have something that will work. They make or have made stock sights for CZ. Here is a link to LPA's selection for CZ sights: http://www.lpasights.com/en/products?page=shop.browse&manufacturer_id=18 Edited July 27, 2015 by StraightSh00ter
BeerBaron
I've had very poor experience with the lpa sights (2failed on me), I've seen hajos break and drift for windage is a pain. The only ones I've seen that are a decent sight and seem to last are the cz ub ones I linked above. Otherwise I stay fixed these days.

StraightSh00ter
BeerBaron, that's good to know. It looks like Jayohee had the same experience - the sight he linked is also LPA. Kensight makes LPA compatible sights but I don't have the experience to know if they are any better.
BeerBaron
I'd have to check to be sure. From memory I run a 150t Dawson with the fixed shadow rear for poi with 135gb pills. With that czub adhustable I think I went 165 or 170t Dawson. Of course it's adjustable... Bear in mind if you shoot heavy pills they will impact higher at the same pf so taller front sight would be needed.

Yeah I use the 6.5mm high front sight (5.5mm comes on the gun from factory) with the factory fixed SP01 rear sights, shoots POA/POI. I'd be interested in the adjustable rear, so your recomendation on 170T will get me started. Cheers, Ando.
BeerBaron
I believe the cz 6.5mm will be close to a Dawson 170t. That czub rear with your current front should work. Cz and Dawson measure differently. One includes the dovetail height, one does not. I'd keep your current front and get the czub rear. You can buy direct from the czub web store or PBA get them in too. Pba also get the cz fronts and Dawson fronts from time to time.
BeerBaron
From memory a Dawson 150t is 150 for the blade plus 60 for the dovetail. Overall .210 inch. Convert to mm is 5.4 mm same as factory shadow front. My current shadow shot just a touch above poi/poa from factory so that was perfect. The Dawson 170t is roughly the same as a cz 6mm.
