Hi-Power Jack
Not sure I understand the question?
Sarge
It's my understanding some bad slides may have come from the factory. Mine cracked on my Cheely gun and to my knowledge STI replaced it for free. Talk to your builder or to STI if it's a stock gun.
jcc7x7
Race guns break stuff STI slides are lifetime gauranteed That's why I use their slides It's a pain while your gun is down but it helps with some of the costs
BeerBaron
I think by window he means ejection port. It's a fairly common place to crack.
sidnal
I had one crack from the back of the ejection port across the top of the slide. STI warranted it, they were very helpful.
Triple
Sorry for my bad English. Anyone Know what generates the breaking? Thanks
Glock26Toter
They just do. There's not much metal there and even at 165pf we are talking about a lot of flex during shooting. A slight flaw in the port can start a weak spot getting weaker with every round. I've been shooting for over 10 years and if I have seen many broken slides. There has been much debate about tri-topping vs not, but I've seen many of both kind. Then others are like "what the hell are you talking about?" and claim to have a billion rounds in guns with the original slide. I have a lamp made from broken slides. Shoot 'em, break 'em, shoot 'em again. That's my open gun motto.
