Slide Glide in revolver

Recommended Posts

I have gooped the insides of my 586 with Slide glide.  So far it is working very well.  I get lots of comments on how smooth the trigger is.  That and loosening the tension on the mainspring strain screw are the only mods I have made.

Mario,

I said to use #1 on the internals of a revolver because #3 is a thicker blend of grease (than #1) and will just introduce more resistance in the action, which is you don't want in a revolver.

I would only recommend #3 on an Open/auto/race gun if the gun has an EXTREMELY loose top end. Basically, always default to #1, unless you've taken the time to experiment with #3.

I'm confused, (as normal) I thought #1 was the lite formula.

As for using it in revolvers, I liberally coat the innards of my 610 with what I think is #2 :D

after stoning everything already, it really slicks it up.

It seems as if I excel at showing my ignorance at times. I really ought to read the instructions a little more often!!!!! :D

So let me straighten up my mess! I use the SG #1 in my revolver with excellent results. I'll have to order some of the 'lite' version to give it a try.
